If they do in fact sign Rodgers and not select a QB? In fairness, the Steelers should have a better defense than the Jets had last season. The Jets defense took a huge step backwards.....Read through a deep dive on Rodgers' 2024 season. Still shows some great arm talent, but its eerily reminiscent to what I saw from 2023 Russ Wilson before convincing myself he was a decent acquisition.
I'm still in the "doesn't really matter anyway" camp. 2025 still has the makings of a punt season given the coaching staff still being the main problem. It's all just lipstick on the pig. Rodgers will at least bring enough drama to make things slightly more laughable.
Run the ball with Warren and Gainwell and have Rodgers play game manager and they could be better. Metcalf, Pickens, and Friermuth is some nice offensive talent for Rodgers to throw to. Play good defense and the Steelers could be a team to watch if healthy. Rodgers played better towards the end of season and players typically bounce back in year 2 after the type of injury he sustained. The wild card is A-Rod's age.
I'd be willing to bet Rodgers should still be a top 10-12 type QB.
