I really have to wonder if Deion is going to let his kid go to the Browns...
I'm starting to think the Sanders doubters are right to the extent where the Browns should just take the top prospect and figure out the QB later on like when the Falcons were stuck with Matt Ryans contract.I really have to wonder if Deion is going to let his kid go to the Browns...

I think we do have a relatively deep draft so I kinda agree that most teams would want to trade down and except for WR and LT I dont think anyone is trading up. Maybe the Penn ST TE. Im going to have to look at him closer. He looks like a monster and Penn St's QB play was all over the place.Yah who knows. This really isn't the draft to be picking top 5 in. There's really no elite EDGE or OT or QB. Hunter is probably worth a top 5 but a WR/DB hybrid? Meh. Unlike Ohtani in baseball, that kid is not going to be able to play DB AND WR in the NFL. Pick one. Snap count very much matters in the NFL and saying you can do 100+ snaps a game simply wont work. He'll be injured in no time or just exhausted and start to suck at both.

There arguably might not be an elite EDGE prospect but there will be elite edge players developed out of these no elite edge prospects. Almost no one had Jared Verse as an elite Edge prospect and I think there might be a couple of Verse-ish players. There might actually be some near blue chip DTs. That I'm going to have to look at, too. I think there is a very high probability that Chris Jones retires in 2 seasons just given the difficulty of his position so I'm certainly looking at the DT prospects.
I'm kinda with you on Hunter but I don't want to fully rule out his potential as strictly a WR. Its a bad WR class. WRs are expensive. Hunter took a massive leap in one season at WR. All he has to do is make one more leap and you're talking about someone that people will value as a top 3 pick. I do think he has to pick a side, though. The season is too long. Maybe having him on 3rd down as CB and WR. Maybe. Im just not sure thats a smart move instead of just developing on one side the best you can. As a CB? Maybe the 8th pick. Both? Thats a unicorn and Im not 100% sure that doesn't come back to Kyle Pitts you in the butt where you have a super talented person with no position. It sure would be fun if he could play both, though.
If there is a massive dropoff between QB2 and QB3 people will trade up for QB2. Im just not fully sure where that lands in the draft. Pick 2, maybe pick 5.
I suspect there will be a top 10 forming at some point of elite players assuming that there are some of these OL prospects that people think can play tackle. I know this is going to shock you coming from a Chiefs fan but the Offensive Tackle position in the NFL isnt very good as a whole.Good analysis/post.
I do agree this draft is relatively deep... my point was there's not a lot of top 5-10 talent compared to most draft classes. There's certainly good players to be found and I agree, this is a draft that you want to trade back on. That said, trading back is easier said than done, you have to find a trade partner.
PSU Abdul Carter should go top 5. He has that Micha Parsons motor.Yah who knows. This really isn't the draft to be picking top 5 in. There's really no elite EDGE or OT or QB. Yes if Cam Ward goes first overall. Now if Cam falls to them I think they'll pull the trigger on him and Carter will land between picks 3 to 5.I think Abdul Carter probably goes to the Browns at #2.
I’m pretty certain the Titans take Cam Ward with the first pick - they simply have to have a QBYes if Cam Ward goes first overall. Now if Cam falls to them I think they'll pull the trigger on him and Carter will land between picks 3 to 5.
Honestly could make the same argument for the Titans needing so much talent that they should go bpa like the Browns.I’m pretty certain the Titans take Cam Ward with the first pick - they simply have to have a QB
I think Dillon Gabriel is underrated in this class.this seems like one of those years where two QBs may go way higher than they should (because of position) & by the end we find out the best QB that year will be some undrafted QB.
Who would that be if you dare to venture a guess?
I too think they will.I’m pretty certain the Titans take Cam Ward with the first pick - they simply have to have a QB
Its one of those deals where if he was a little taller and his arm was a little stronger he'd be getting all of the hype.I think Dillon Gabriel is underrated in this class.
I think Kyle McCord might go rd2-rd3 so he doesn't fit the undrafted QB part but I think someone will kick the tires on him even though his name isnt showing up here.
Dillon Gabriel is also an older QB with a really capped ceiling but maybe could walk into the NFL as the 25th best QB.
I do love these discussions but I'm one of the few who is not afraid to say as a fan I don't have the first clue who will succeed and how could I? Elite of elite FOs miss on QBs all the time after extensive evaluations. Not directed at you or anyone here, but pretty sure if ESPN wanted to they could get fans to believe Howard should go top 3.It is that time of year again. Lets talk the quarterback prospects.
NFL MOCK DRAFT DATABASE
1. Cam Ward, Miami of Florida - 1st round, 1st overall pick
2. Shedeur Sanders, Colorado - 1st round, 2nd overall pick
3. Jalen Milroe, Alabama - 1st round, 24th overall pick
4. Jaxson Dart, Ole Miss - 2nd round, 53rd overall pick
5. Quinn Ewers, Texas - 2nd round, 58th overall pick
6. Will Howard, Ohio State - 3rd round, 91st overall pick
CBS Sports currently has Dart as QB4, Kyle McCord from Syracuse as QB5, and Ewers as QB6.
What are your first impressions? Strong class or weak class?
Interesting though guessing big boards don't really take into account how important QBs are to QB needy teams. Did he have Daniels top 2-3 last year?Dane Brugler has 0 QBs in his top 10 big board.
Ward is #14 overall.
Sanders is #25
Dart, Milroe and Howard outside of the top 50
Thats pretty rough. It does paint the picture of Ward going top 3 and probably #1. Sanders is way more in question.
Todd McShay also called Dillon Gabriel 'like Tua but a very, very small bit worse'. I've honestly heard some people suggest the same thing about Sanders. Penix was #25 on the consensus big board last year. Penix went 8th overall in a stronger draft. Probably means that Sanders is still likely top 8 but teams could also pass on him.
