That's a solid list. If you take the word "fame" in hall of fame literally Garvey and Parker were two of the most famous players of their era. And Cobra was a feared hitter for a long time with a hall of fame nickname.

It's absolutely bizarre to me that Tommy John isn't already in...a ton of wins, a good ERA, and a surgical procedure that half the league gets.

Would like to see Parker and Tiant too but really I don't care until B&C are in

I think John belongs more as a contributor than anything else (similar to Flood and Canseco, and to a lessor extent, Monday).

Toss both of them in the Jackson/Rose wing of the Hall. The broke the BIG rules of the game and got caught with no wiggle room.

Utley is a veterans committee guy... he is also a SABRE/WAR darling...

his reputation and counting stats are just not that good... and you can easily see why he gets passed by...

especially when Cano becomes available... then they will be compared to each other and Cano has the better reputation/better stats...

define "reputation". Isn't Cano the guy that left Seattle for the Mets, had a shitty season, started to make a comeback and got suspended for a year?

he had around 28% last year and looks to finish around 45-50% this go around, not to mention the upcoming ballots look pretty thin. I think he'll make it before 10 years

Yeah until at least Bonds and Clemens are in the whole thing is a farce. But it's just sports so whatever.

Palmeiro I'm not that big on putting in (looking again, he should go in too). Sosa is borderline to me but probably deserves it. The others should all be in (Rose served his lifetime ban)
