Huh?? Just talking about taking RB late will be mistake. I dont care about other needs taken later.. LOL
I think RB is the biggest need myself. There are game changers available there. There are guys at other positions available in FA that can fill any big needs we dont fill in FA that could come in and start, but we desperately need some juice

I think you got to consider the value which really is RB and DT. This does not mean I want a RB or DT in round one. There is also great value at TE. Lol

Dak needs help and if they go wideout it needs to be in round one.

What I am saying is they need a RB and DT and they need to do this in the first 3 rounds! All I know is they got no real difference makers at DT other than Osa and he is not great against the run. Mazi IMO is a bust. He has had an opportunity and he was terrible. This team will continue to get run over until they address this issue. They will continue to lose games if they don't bring in better talent at NT.

The metrics don't play well for Mazi. Most NT's are double teamed twice as much as the 3T. For the Cowboys, Osa was double teamed twice as much. I think if you put a NT in there that would draw consistent doubles, it might propel Osa to a 10 sack season and free Micah up even more.
The main thing I want at 12 is an impact. If it's CB WR or Edge, great, RB, DT or LB, fine, but S or TE are fine too. A Brian Branch type safety or a Brock Bowers level TE would be enormous helps as well. We just need a stud

Whether you believe we need an upgraded NT starter over Mazi or just another starting caliber NT behind Mazi, it's a huge need. Mazi player 31 snaps a game last season. Unless you're ready to roll with Justin Rogers the answer which i certainly don't
lol
whatever YOU think.

Give me a player at 12 who has all pro potential. I don't care what the position is with the exception being long snapper,Punter ,Kick return specialist and Punter. All other positions are open for me. Any All pro level player left on the board

I see guys like Harmon and Nolen being versatile to play both tackle positions. They likely won't be on the Cowboys radar unless they trade to around 20. I see both of these guys being real good players.

The problem was Mazi was not getting doubled very much. They may as well put Kneeland at NT. Mazi plays like he weighs 280
He's single blocked the majority of plays and whipped on about half of those. He does ok against smaller, less athletic guards, but gets blown up by the top guys. I'm all for the kid elevating his game, he is still on the team, but nothing about his performance last season says he should be a guaranteed starter going into camp

I agree . Mazi needs to fight for the starting spot. Maybe the light bulb finally turns on and he turns into a player. Maybe the new coaching staff can elevate his game and get him to play with more intensity.

Maybe. And if he does, great for us. But to me, there's no way i go into camp without another option

you guys ever come back and read your posts? It's like women, saying the same shit just differently. Maybe these hot sports takes on Mazi's past shit stains don't improve, and yes UK, maybe Rodgers is just drawing a check before he's playing spring football.
BUT...

It is comical to think nothing changes with a new coaching staff, and with what this staff has presented to the media and fans with regards to vision for this team. It's the DFW media that has UK spewing the continued DT alarm. Must listen to 105.3 a lot. No clue why arlington.

For the record again.
10 inch letters for you, UK
I am not ball washing Jerry nor Stephen nor Mazi's ball sacks. I'm posting an OPINION of what I think the tea leaves (coaching staff) are saying AND what they have added in free agency.
Yes, draft a Caldwell or C J West in round 5 or even round 4 if obtained, but in rounds one thru three without gaining an additional trade back pick in the top 100 is not and should not be happening for a rotational fat boy IN MY NOT SO HUMBLE OPINION.(shout out to colors)

draft day bragging rights UK, none of this leave the board crap.

Whatever you're drinking, I'm buying a round for the house.
I'm pretty sure if you go back over the last several pages, I've been agreeing with other guys who also believe Mazi is a bust. And you don't know a damned thing about where I get my opinions. Maybe it's from watching the damn games? Maybe it's from watching the All 22? Maybe it's from listening to people i respect that play the game? Or Maybe it's from stats. Any way you break it down, Mazi is a bust of a 1st rounder....SO FAR. I've also said 100 times I'm rooting for the kid. Go back and show me where I have ever said cut the kid. And yet, anyone with a different OPINION than yours is met with that ridiculous rant, like you're some little league mommy that's pissed little Mazi is batting 10th and playing RF. And yes, for someone who allegedly isn't a fan of Jerry, you sure as Hell defend his sorry team managing. Have another fella. On me

I don't get the Mazi is a bust talk. He was not great, but he is not a bust and is still young. I do not think DT is as huge a need as many other positions, such as RB, WR, CB, A replacement for Steele, even a better TE, LB (worried about Overs's health and durability). No problem with DT in the late rounds 5,6,7.

they know more than we do. if McMillian or Hampton is there at 12 i would run the pick to the Commish personally but the probability is both are gone by 12and wasting 12 on DT or even a OL makes no sense. that leaves finding a team wanting to move up and the Cowboys moving down and drafting the BA need at whatever pick they move down to
Good chance both are available at 12 and I think we could trade down and still get Hampton.
O wouldn't be opposed to Hampton at 12 but I think it's worth the risk of losing him with a trade down.

I don't do mocks because it just becomes a list of players as ranked by the Kipers of the world and people grabbing guys they don't know because they show as "best available" on the mocks they read, but I'd love something like the below. It's probably guys who aren't likely to be there in each round but with luck all could be based on what is in the parenthesis and all are guys I'd use draft capital to move up a little for if the team likes them like I do.

Round 1 - Membou (arm length may make him an OG to some teams)
Round 2 - Luther Burden (stats plummeted last season)
Round 3 - Alfred Collins (little pass rush)

I worry this coaching staff might draft more like Jerry prefers and go for splash over substance based on the HCs comments. Which is disappointing from an old school HC background family. Perhaps that's part of why Jerry picked him. Or maybe his OL coach turned OC can convince him that the big uglies are what this team needs the most. One thing Jerry does that people seem to forget is that he does usually go with what his coaches fight for on draft day. Many of our draft misses came from straight the coaches. Probably because Jerry has no clue who these guys are and his opinions are based on what he hears for the first time in the pre-draft meetings, or at least the ones he actually attends.

But, sticking with Schottenheimer's theory of building from the outside in (and assuming the top OTs won't be available), I'm hoping for Javon Walker, Emmanwori or one of the top CBs at #12. However, since I can't shake the fact that our pick will 70% be WR and 20% will be RB (Fits Jerry's playbook and our HCs comments) regardless of who is on the board, I don't think any of those three are going to happen either.

Emmanwori is an absolute freak show. Talent like Sean Taylor had coming out of Miami. We haven't had a safety with anything like his physical ability since Woody
