I just don't see this team drafting DL day 1 or day 2 without a trade back. Since some of you continue to post Mazi' replacement as a top team priority, I'll continue to voice the opinion this team does not view AT THIS point and time Mazi as problem one, two, or even third on the list of addressing with a high end draft pick.
I would not draft a DT at 12. We have more pressing needs.

I think a big way for them to screw this draft up is for them to wait till the 5th round to draft a RB.

Not impressed with the two backs they signed in FA. Maybe Sanders or whatever his name is does something. If the guy from Denver was so great the Broncos would have kept him

They need a dynamic back, not these guys past their prime. If they trade down maybe they add a real good one . This RB class is going to make a difference in the NFL .

These fools are almost forced to trade down because of that idiotic Mingo trade

The Mingo kid is a real killer. When day 3 starts, there will be a quality player there at the top of the 4th.
I think you can solve RB one of two way....take one in the first or second round that is a 3 down back.....or....just use two of your last seven picks on RB and take a thinder and a lightning. This is one year I wouldn't be afraid to double up at RB or at DT. Those are the two loaded positions in this draft, talemt wise.

that's one of the reasons i see us trading down in the 1st, maybe twice. we need 2 good receivers and at least 2 good RB's from this draft

several teams around 18 to 25 are looking at certain draftees and will want to move up to the 10 to 15 range to get that player. they are in a position to draft want and not go BA

I hope so. Only thing that makes me wonder is i really like most of the guys around 18 as much as the guys at 12. Unless someone slips through

Whether you believe we need an upgraded NT starter over Mazi or just another starting caliber NT behind Mazi, it's a huge need. Mazi player 31 snaps a game last season. Unless you're ready to roll with Justin Rogers the answer which i certainly don't

we had a lot of injures. i also believe we need a replacement for him which is why we signed Solomon Thomas in the offseason and hopefully we sign 1 or 2 in the later rounds (3-7) and concentrate on WR and RB first. I'm thinking we trade down in the 1st and go Egbuka in the 1st, Judkins in the 2nd and with the 2 0r 3 3rds we pick up go Farmer, Savion Williams, Norman-Lott and Ashton Gillotte

The hole in the middle of our defense can be seen from outer space...

reading especially what other teams' reporters are saying
Their reporters know nothing of their draft boards just like none of us know anything about the Cowboys draft boards. Sure things leak out here and there but it isn't even clear if those leaks are accurate. My knowledge of following this team tells me they will go offense at 12 based on everything going on and how they handled this offseason and in particular WR (which is a huge need and was completely ignored in free agency) with RB possible as well. If you pay attention, this team telegraphs what they will do more than any team in history. But (and this is a huge but) that is without seeing or knowing anything about who they actually like in this draft. They may love a couple of these WRs or they may not see any of them as even first or second rounders. They may have player "x" at position "y" as a top 3 ranked prospect and if that player is there they better take that player regardless of position. And every team is kind of the same way. What you read is speculation based on need and if need alone drives your draft you don't belong in an NFL decision making position. Other team's fans are reading what guys like Broaddus are saying. You think he has a clue as to what the team will do? Dude has never been right about anything.

they know more than we do. if McMillian or Hampton is there at 12 i would run the pick to the Commish personally but the probability is both are gone by 12and wasting 12 on DT or even a OL makes no sense. that leaves finding a team wanting to move up and the Cowboys moving down and drafting the BA need at whatever pick they move down to

there's a hole with Osa and Thomas there?
Massive. They are both 3 techs in this defense and not good run defenders. Thomas is really even a borderline early down 3tech since he has been so bad against the run at times. Osa is below average against the run. You play those two together and teams will never throw the ball. Go back and check the most important games of the past few years and check how our run defense did and check what we have done to improve it. Tank was borderline elite against the run as a DE. Golston was good against the run as a DE. Hankins was good against the run. They are all gone. Check out how the kid from the Saints plays the run - not good. How does Fowler play the run - not good? This team learned absolutely nothing from our past embarrassing playoff failures. Maybe Mazi is an All Pro this year :hope: , but it sure as heck is more likely that he stinks again. If you build a team around assuming a guy who has been horrendous for two years all of a sudden becoming good, then you deserve what you get if he isn't. Roster building isn't about taking unlikely risks. If this team singed a decent run stopping 1 tech it would have changed everything going into the draft and season. A wing and prayer hasn't worked for 30 years, but this will be the year!

Again, that is based on your personal draft board or your reading of mock drafts. I like both players also and would be happy with either. But we don't know if the team even likes them. That is the point.
