Yep get it to your play makers something Geno struggles to do. FIVE TD also
Lock had a nice week but last week he had 2 pick 6 and only completed 56% of his passes. Also was the Giants third string QB behind a couple of duds. We all realize Geno isn’t the answer by now and it’s a matter of finding the QB of the future. That’s not Lock.

Yep that shit happens when you dont get any reps. Took him a bit to knock off the rust but like it or not he had a 155.3 rating and that is only 3 points off the max you can get. Took him 3 games to knock the rust off which i feel is about normal. I would take Lock over Howell every day. I would take Darnold and Mayfield over Howell also. I would take Darnold and Mayfield 100% over Geno Smith also. Lock could still improve but he turned 28 this year. His window to improve is closing fast. Mayfield is 29 and Darnold is 27 so Just like Lock their windows are closing with Darnold having another season or two to improve but he will get a big pay day this offseason and to me he isnt worth the money.

I wouldn't mind having Lock and a rookie as our QB's next year. hell we might end up with the #1 pick in 2026!

Sure,

Lock had a 32 QBR and 55 passer rating this season going into today's game. You are literally the only one on Lock Island.

He started only 4 games you know that right? He wasnt getting ANY snaps in practice either. He played well today and saying he didnt is just spitting into the wind. Has Geno EVER not just this year BUT EVER had a QBR over 97.5? Bad QB's don't do that.

Anyway i was talking about TODAYS game and you get all pissy. Pull Genos dong out your mouth.

And if Lock sucks against the Eagles next week will that be rust as well?

So chances are only 2 QB's are taken in the first round and maybe 2 in the 2nd round. That leaves a lot of mid talent QB's for the Hawks in the 3rd or later. This might be the draft to look for a prospect with upside as there should be some options when the Hawks pick.
More looking at 3 QB's off the board early. Not a lot of love for Dillion Gabirel with size issues and arm strength which I question about that but he would be a good target in the third round. He's same height as Russ and solid numbers in college. If he plays well in the playoffs which I think he will, he could move up the draft boards.

Any QB that plays WELL on the Giants team is a feat in itself. Geno wouldn't do any better for the Giants than what Daniel Jones did if even that good LMAO and thats the truth.

Lock was hitting the open guys today not forcing it into double or tripple coverage. Something Geno does not once but multiple times a game.

I remember Matt Flynn's game too... that still didnt work out... lol
BTW Drew Lock is KILLING IT!

Over 300 yards passing in only 23 attempts and 5 TD's no INT's.

I think he has knocked the rust off.

Season all but over so I'd say give Howell all first team reps and see what he can do.

If there is a good "true nose tackle" in the draft they don't get taken in the first round, they go later. Pass rushing DT go in the first, but the Seahawks have that type already.
Id love to get one in round 2 but theres a decent chance two go in round 1

Flynn never started more than 5 games in a season. He might have did something on the Hawks had Wilson not balled the fook out lol. Flynn was a back-up QB and was suited for that role. He didnt have a strong arm wasnt all that mobile and even though he didnt turn the ball over as much as Geno does he had a little issue there also.

I have said this before, i dont mind INT's because they happen but your QB BETTER be at or better than 2 to 1 when it comes to TD and INT's or you wont do a DAMN thing. The thing with turnovers though is 1 season maybe even 2 or 3 could be bad but if they learn and cut down the TO every season then they are growing in the right direction. When you are 34+ and are a 1 to 1 TD/INT there is no getting better unless ytou get SUPER lucky and everyone drops should have been picked passes all the time against you. Something that actually DID happen to Geno in 2022 at a unheard of rate.

INT's percentage on balls that hit a Defender in the Hands is OVER 80% Genos in 2023 was 43% WOW.

I remember they worked out the numbers and said had everything just been at 65% ( up from 43% but lower than the NFL average of 80% Plus he would HAVE HAD over 23 turnovers and lead the league in that area.

Look at it now, it's all showing up.

I don't think it's technically over, because Miami won, Atlanta can win, and if Detroit wins we go to week 18... where more stuff has to happen (including beating the Rams). Or am I mistaken?

Its over, come on be realistic. If Atlanta wins and Detroit wins that just prolongs the suffering. Here Shark this is what has to happen next week.

Broncos beat the Chiefs. (Maybe likely if chiefs rest all the starters)
Dolphins beat the Jets.
Falcons beat the Panthers.
Cardinals beat the 49ers.
Bears beat the Packers. ( Not going to happen )
Patriots beat the Bills. ( not going to happen even if Bills rest starters )
Lions beat the Vikings.
Buccaneers beat the Saints.
Chargers beat the Raiders.

Hawks won't beat the Rams anyway.

Sure, I get it's a ridiculous long shot. I just like to know the facts...

I also didn't realize this morning ALL those things had to happen next week. So I was harmlessly asking - not saying you bitched me out or anything, I get it. I just didn't know if it was legit over. A quick glance at NFL/ESPNs page shows the Rams haven't clinched yet. Pending how the next 24 hours go, it might.

Anyway, appreciate the reply/clarification.

Nose tackles or DT? Because nose tackles don't go first round because they are run stuffers. Name me these two tackles that may go round one, because I'm pretty sure they aren't nose tackles any more then Leonard Williams or Byron Murphy are nose tackles

I don't get NT at all this draft.

IMO go WR (get rid of Lockett AND Metcalf - Metcalf does serve a purpose but we're seeing some flaws, and now twice on that knee), or grab an OT and pray it converts to Guard. There's some decent OT to guard prospects (I hate doing this, but it's an option), some DT, good WR, good RB depth... OKAY DB.. it's not a great draft. IMO refill on G, WR, and MAYBE DL but it's not an NT. I'd also be fine taking another OT at right tackle because Lucas hasn't looked great at all since his return, could easily have that injury resurface, etc. And RT is less important than LT.

OT/OG/WR/RB/DT-non NT. You need a pass rushing DT to replace Reed and a run stuffing DT to replace Hankins. These really aren't viable NTs at this point, but Seattle isn't running that kind of system, they don't run a traditional 3-4 line... (one huge NT), seems like quite a few teams are moving on from that.

ILB is utterly HORRIBLE in this draft (sure okay whatever, a 7th rounder could be the next Ray Lewis... whatever... blah blah blah - on paper it's HORRIBLE lol) - you just have to pray Knight/Jones can hold it down for another year.

The only way i would keep Geno, Lockett and metcalf is if they restructure. We know Lockett will restructure if asked to but Geno and Metcalf? No i dont think so. So by going off that I restructure Lockett Trade DK and cut Geno or if you can find someone willing to give you a 6th or 7th for Geno then do that.

Cutting Geno costs us 13 million in Dead cap space. Keeping Geno costs us 38 million in cap space. Geno is NOT at ALL worth 38 million. Hawks save 25 million from cutting Geno and when you are 7+ to as much as 16 million OVER THE PROJECTED CAP for next year someone has to go.
-$7,106,306 cap space, and -$15,429,644 effective cap space.
