Canadian men beat the Aussies 93-83 in basketball. That should be enough to book their ticket to the quarter-finals. Trailed Australia by four points at half-time but played some great bball in the 2nd half.

New Zealand are into the gold medal game in women's rugby sevens with a win over the States. Canada about to play Australia to see who will take on New Zealand. I just hope Canada can make it competitive, Australia looks unbeatable.

Weird note of the day, I have seen 2 collisions in sports where collisions don't normally happen.

In BMX Freestyle warmups, someone took a spill and the next person through nailed them. Then in Beach volleyball, two players on opposite sides collided at the net.

Canada vs. New Zealand women's rugby sevens gold medal match about to start.

New Zealand strikes first and made it look easy. Of course, this is how the game versus Australia started as well.

Canada takes advantage of a 7-on-6 powerplay and we're tied 7-7

Another try in stoppage time for Canada (missed the 2 point conversion though) and Canada leads 12-7 at halftime.

A quick score by the Kiwis plus the convert and they lead 14-12

New Zealand now leads 19-12. Just over a minute remaining.

New Zealand wins the gold and well deserved as they ran the table. Great effort from the Canadian ladies though, never thought they would beat both France and Australia to get to the gold medal game.
