I’ll be basically talking about basketball, but feel free to say anything about the Olympics you want.

They say they picked him because he can play the same role as he did for the Celtics, but I think they should have chosen Tatum or Brown if they want to go. Put the best team out there. It’s not like adding a better player is going to worsen the Olympic team chemistry and team
play to the point we wouldn’t win. Being on a dream team is huge for a career as far as what you feel you have accomplished and putting someone on that who hasn’t really accomplished more than those two for the sake of team chemistry is an insult. Unless they choose to pass on it. Sounds like Brown wanted to go.

What about other events you might watch?

Are there any others?

Why the F would you even think to play him in a game that doesn’t even count that you should win easily when he is questionable? Geez, Louis. We don’t need the tuneup. We need to not be lackadaisical, be mentally focused, and not selfish, but we don’t need him to be trotting himself out there. Don’t give me the “you could slip in the shower” or avoiding injury causes injuries bullcrap, he’s already injured and is questionable not good to go. Sit him out.

Yes, I was just about to post this that I was wrong about the US winning significantly, but I still think that it would not have mattered besides the headlines or internal strife if they lost. We don’t want Greece Olympics to happen again. And even then I don’t know if Durant would’ve changed the whole thing.

The captain of Team Japan's women's gymnastics team had to quit after she separately smoked a cigarette, and had an alcoholic drink.

The legal age of drinking, and smoking, is 20 in Japan. She was 19.

But the code of conduct for the Japan Gymnastics Association says no one can do it.

Watching the opening ceremonies.

Can someone explain one of the torch bearers with the white veil over them?

Is that how some people dress in Paris?

Or is it something artistic just for this ceremony?

I thought this was the best opening ceremony I've seen. From the diverse music, to involving a lot of the city of Paris.

I think having the ceremony outdoors, away from a stadium, gave them more options.

And I like how they interjected the parade of nations, with the opening ceremony.

I didn't see it, I'm at work. But my Facebook "friends" who I have to have on FB so I don't offend them are all going crazy about mocking Christianity in the opening ceremony. Something about drag queens at the last supper?

I don't remember the last supper part. But there was a plot during a video segment, where there was a menage a trois between a guy, girl, and someone possibly in drag.

The person on the right may be in drag.

Anthony Edwards is back. He was great.

Joel Embiid continues to suck. He's always bad in the playoffs. Then today, he opens the game with two straight missed free throws. An 88% FT shooter misses the first FTs of the game, in the least pressure moment possible? He would miss 3 for the day. Mentally soft.

This faster pace game, with less clock stoppage, makes Curry easier to watch. He doesn't have time to play with his mouthpiece anymore. In NBA games, he acts like he's finger banging his mouthpiece.

Jokic was his usual great self.

At one point, Steph Curry was guarding Jokic on a play. :L

It's good to see a competitive game. This was competitive in the first half. It's good to see Team USA fight and earn their double digit win. Makes the games more memorable.

Haliburton should have played. There's enough minutes.

I think he's behind Tatum though. He was nailed to that bench in the first game too. Once they figure out KD's minutes and rotation spot things should smooth out. Embiid probably shouldn't be starting, or at least they need to stop forcing the ball through him to start the game. It's just clunky and stops the ball.

Has anyone watched on Peacock? I'm definitely enjoying the multiview channels.

Good tip, might try that for the next game while I'm home. Signing on the Peacock at work might be a step too far lol.
