So the US and Canada are lined up for the finals?
Think it might be semis unless they do some weird seeding thing but Germany should be the 2 seedSo the US and Canada are lined up for the finals?
Damn I’d rather that be the finalThink it might be semis unless they do some weird seeding thing but Germany should be the 2 seed
Allen pretty much is being same as Hartenstein. Guy went for around 8 ppg, 8 rpg and 2.5 apg. Career is 6/6/2I wouldn’t say it’s a hell of a deal either. No discount was given or anything. Hartenstein’s deal reset the market and Allen has been slotted correctly.
I mean, he was paid about the same as Hartenstein but far more productive. You disagree?Cavs rosy colored glasses
Yes...a lot better. But paid roughly the same.Hes better than Hartenstein though.
He's $20 mil per the next 2 seasons (which makes him very underpaid)....and by the time his $30 mil per seasons start he will be as or even more underpaid than now. That's why I thought the comparison was a bit wonky in establishing worth.
My initial point is that I don't know who is going to want to trade for a $30M per for a paint big like Allen in the near future, so they are essentially locking him to their roster with the extension. We've seen how the apron rules have shifted teams' spending habits overall. Maybe as the cap continues to expand that will change, but we'll see how the athleticism holds as he nears/passes 30.
Agree...I mean, he will definitely slow down but figure he can play like he has until his new deal ends (barring injury). also still could improve as only 26.Meh, Allen should be fine as he gets older.
Had heard he was considered a max deal which seems odd. Not sure why. It's also the "max" the Cavs could extend Allen for at this time apparently.
That's also fair when it comes to FA. Only true max guys and maybe ring chasers or others on vet minimum deals are not overpaid. Most are.By that argument it could be said all but about 8 players are overpaid though
Pre-extension? If that’s what you’re saying then I agree. But if you’re saying his new total when the extension kicks in at 30 million is a deal then I absolutely disagree. That means you’re projecting him at a player north of 35-40 million. That’s not Allen.Allen pretty much is being same as Hartenstein. Guy went for around 8 ppg, 8 rpg and 2.5 apg. Career is 6/6/2
Allen went for 16.5, 10.5 and 3. Career 13/9/2
Allen also only a few months older.....compared to Hartenstein Allen was way underpaid. Not really debatable.
I think everybody here is in agreement that OKC overpaid. I personally have him at about 22-23.5. So I think that’s a pretty fair assessment of Allen > Hartenstein. 30> 22-23.5Yes...a lot better. But paid roughly the same.

A nice article about D. White.
Derrick White is showing the world how good he is for Team USA
Link didn't work for me, but you obviously meantForsberg: The world knows how good Derrick White is now
The international audience is finding out how much Derrick White impacts winning as he shines for Team USA, writes Chris Forsberg.www.nbcsportsboston.com
But the US team doesn’t play together either. It’s 2 all star teamsI'm not so sure that an international all-star team would be more competitive than these individual countries. A main reason these games are so much more competitive is that these national teams play together a lot and as a unit with national pride. An all-star team would lose that aspect. Some of these guys from South Sudan that have been tough for the US wouldn't even come close to making an international all-star team.
