@bksballer89 had a post the other pointing out guys who likely had too many minutes that could be cut away to add some run for Tatum, most glaringly Booker who played 26 minutes of traffic cone defense and shot missing.

I would think they would hope to get Lebron's minutes down too.

I read that whole article. It’s really not CBA related. This is about fits and commitment and how old will Markk be when the rebuild happens etc… Doesn’t seem like Utah is handcuffed at all. They hold assets that people don’t covet in John Collins and Clarkson. Is that a CBA thing? Maybe a little but if they didn’t massage the cap would teams have value in Clarkson or Collins at those numbers? I thought most of us agreed those were overpays at the time and that was before most of us became new CBA conscious.

They just need to decide their path. Either continue the tank build or invest in Markkanen and move forward. I don't think they're being limited by the new CBA whatsoever; they're currently 30M under the first apron (luxury tax). They aren't tied long term to anyone, with only Collins (player option), Sexton and Clarkson with sizeable contracts for even next season.

I kind of still think Kerr is fucking around with what he has. It was KD’s first game back. I think he could be assessing Jrue/White as well.

Both would be gone under the old cba imo

Yep, tough to project what he would get out of KD, and pretty tough to pull him when he's lights out.
The best group might be Curry LeBron KD and then a defensive guard and the best defensive 5 he has to round out those 3 guys.

I go Jrue or White ( I can’t pick) Curry KD LeBron Embiid

My 2nd group is Jrue or White Ant Tatum AD Bam.

I really don’t like Book with this group of All Stars. He’s meh as a defender. It’s not talent. He’s a ball watcher and gets lazy down there for me. Offensively he’s too much of a chucker. I don’t think his all around offensive game warrants playing with All Stars if he’s not the best player and dominating shots. Book’s time is 2028 when Curry is gone.

Sexton is an easy fix if they want to move that contract, just trade him (and Kessler) for DLo's and Wood's expiring contracts and draft capital. With Collins, they're at the mercy of that player option. Clarkson could be a useful bench scorer for someone, just going to take some creativity (or wait until someone gets injured).

At least for this summer, I think the best defensive 5 has been AD. I don't know if Kerr wants to keep him paired with Bam though?

The lakers should 100% trade
For sexton

Not sure about Kessler

Knicks have a few firsts from wash and det that are protected enough to have the worst case be they turn into 4
Top 40ish seconds that could arguable be worth it as well

Best case you get picks in the late lottery

I might take that gamble
