Keim was in the junkies this morning and he said he doesn't see the Skins having four new starters on the line. More like three. Said he could see Wylie moving to guard.

Did say he thinks they bring in a new tackle, center, and guard. Thinks one of the tackles is still here. I assumed Leno or Lucas.

Mentioned needing a signal caller on the back end again. I have a feeling FS is going to be a major priority for this team as well.

If we draft LT at #4, Wylie moved to LG, give a shot to Stromberg at center, Cosmi at RG and Lucas at RT or draft pick/FA. Should bring in 3 new o-lineman.

Keim made it sound like Wylie will be moved to guard and to the bench. They way he said it made it sound like they would cut him if they could, but his contract won't alllow them to.

What I took from it, Keim thinks the line will look something like this:

LT Draft or FA
LG Draft or FA
C Draft or FA
RG Cosmi
RT Leno or Lucas

Have you guys ever found yourselves in a situation where something that's said sounds right but in practice is just utter nonsense? Here's the example relative to this conversation that we've all heard multiple times... "Missing on a top 10 pick, sets you back for years!"

What utter bullshit!!!

If you know what your doing, you don't throw up your hands and resign yourself to failure You alter your plan to fit your situation, then ask and answer the question... "what do we have to do now in order to successfully live with coming up short with our original plan.

The Chiefs selection of Alex Smith by their standards, wasn't good enough. By that measure, they should have been set back for years, but they weren't... why... because they were willing to do what was necessary to rectify their dilemma. The Chiefs traded the No. 27 overall pick, a third-round pick and their 2018 first-round selection to the Buffalo Bills in order to move up to the 10th spot to select Mahomes.

I'm drafting a center. If Stromberg was the answer, I think we'd know it. Jmo

he was hurt all year and they signed Gates in FA. Gates should be cut. I can see us drafting a center.

first off the chiefs didnt draft smith the 49ers did and they were in fact set back the half decade . RG3 set us back 1/2 the decade and we followed that up by missing on haskins which when its all said and done it will be 1/2 a decade

Just for arguments sake.

1. We won't have to trade the farm to get a QB in the top 5 this year.

2. What's worse, missing on Haskins or passing on Tua and Herbert?

3. Are we going to spend more time operating on the Ron Rivera plan of fixing everything else and then "dropping the QB in?"

4. Dean gets hell for "rubberstamping" everything Ron does, yet some on this board are getting pushback for not "rubberstamping" moving forward with Howell.

5. Is it a hot take to contemplate drafting a QB with our first pick, when our 5th round QB is:

4-10
Leads the league in interceptions
Leads the league in pick6s
Leads the league in sacks taken
Leads the league in sack yards
Leads the league in batted balls
24th in passer ratings
22nd in QBR

I take no joy in poking holes in Sam Howell. I'm just tired losing. I really am hoping Sam turns things around over the next three weeks so we can plug and play Harrison Jr. along side McLaurin and Dotson.

its not rubber stamping. I wanted gonzo over forbes, i just can see why RR took the positions he took in the draft. He negated oline and we are paying for it. i wanted Hamilton in the Dotson draft. Thats the last 2 draft i disagreed with RR first round picks.

I wanted Gonzo as well, but i will admit that I wasn't upset with the Forbes pick. I really wanted corner last year. Seeing Holmes having to start games for us down the stretch was a non-negotiable for me.

The year before I wanted Jameson Williams. I will admit after seeing Dotson his rookie year along with Robinson and Howell, I was fine with the pick. Hamilton is playing unbelievable football so far.

i wasn't upset either at the forbes pick i knew they would go CB there. Well there is still a chance the 2022 trade will still work out.

Seahawks win tonight pretty much guarantees the Cowboys play their starters against us. Weakens our strength of schedule, which is a good thing, and of course you get to root against the Eagles.

My mistake, it in fact was the 49ers who replaced Smith with Colin Kaepernick. Funny thing is they weren't set back at all. I am interested in the theory behind such thinking so if you don’t mind sharing the whole "set back" if they get it wrong perspective, I would appreciate it.

My perspective... dysfunction and/or incompetence are the main culprits behind the whole "set back" thing.

Missing on a first doesn’t. Giving up two additional firsts for said bust does.

Yeah, I can see where not having multiple firsts could present an issue but even then you'd have to have a pretty bad team during that time frame.

I agree, you don't always have to take a QB top 5. It's a gamble for sure. The NFL has evolved into a QB league though.

Remember when defense and a great running back got you to a bowl? You don't always need a top 5 QB, but in today's NFL you almost always need elite QB play to win a Superbowl and more importantly to be good year in and year out.

These are the QBs who have won a SB in the last 20 years. Brady was a 6th rounder, Russ was a 3rd rounder.

Mahomes
Stafford
Brady
FOLES
P. Manning
R. Wilson
FLACCO
E. Manning
Rodgers
Brees
Roethlisberger

I put the QBs that weren't considered elite in CAPS. P. Manning wasn't elite in Denver, but that team was dead until they put him in mid-season.

We will need Howell to be elite. Not having a 1 to 1 TD/INT ratio. If the new regime thinks Howell can be elite, then he should be the guy moving forward. If they don't think he has that capability then they have to look at this draft class.

I've said it and I really mean it. I don't envy the decision of the next GM. He will be tied to it for years.

Scenario A: You're the guy who let Sam get out of the building.

Scenario B: You are the new GM and owner that passed on QB again.

There is a scenario where Sam and the class are all very good or all of them suck for one reason or another.

thats a nightmare scenario.....but exciting if handled right
