After and agree. Any player who is pretty good gets elevated to really good with all the attention Micah attractsMan did we need to add an edge. Love this. No he wasn't very good last year but he has been good before and I think he will be good in a rotation. We may still need to add another after cut downs. I still don't get why we don't seriously look into Yannick Ngakoue also.
I think they have to be concerned about Mazi and the rest of the Nose tackles. I watched the entire game last night and the NT play was not real good overall.Ya think?
I don't see any team paying him next year . There were some things he did well at. He did not ever seem to get past his first read. He did not see the field well. Wide open receivers he missed. He also failed to see Fant wide open down the sidelines. The game plan was not great. He needs a good running game if he has to play.
I only watched a little because it's really long but you get the gist of it just through the first 10 or 15 minutes. I do find some of the comments a little harsher than they should be, but it highlights a lot of Lance's major flaws. I still maintain my opinion that he'll never be accurate enough nor will he read a defense and go thorough his progressions well enough to be an NFL starting QB. But, I hope we coach him up and run him out there the next two games and see what we can mold out of him because after this month he isn't going to get any snaps and a decision needs to be made on his future with the team and from what he has shown so far it's unlikely he is back in 2025.
I think this year they could really get something out of him with a package designed around his talent for short yardage. Not a staple, maybe something you pull out for 1 or 2 plays a game max. Not only would be be effective, you'd be giving your opponents something else they would have to work on in practiceI don't see any team paying him next year . There were some things he did well at. Totally agree. Unfortunately I'm not sure he can do anything other than that and the problem with that is that he isn't likely going to be active on game day if he is the #3 QB to run those couple of plays per game.I think this year they could really get something out of him with a package designed around his talent for short yardage. I think the only way this happens is if he gets injured this guy is the best NT on the team.. I actually think he is better than Hankins. Hankins looked close to washed up last season .

As long as he stays healthy. Is the key with him... He got way more twitch to him than Mazi. An upgrade IMO. We can thank Zimmer for this.If he is better than Hankins we are in business
this is because we rate our players, vs. our other players. (not a high bar) Not against the league.I really liked Hankins and wish we kept him, but I think Hankins was a little overrated in Dallas and at this point in his career. He wasn't the player he once was. He just was so much better than the other crap we had at NT that it made him look better than he was.
That being said, I do not think Philips is as good as Hankins. That doesn't mean he won't help us of course. I think it was a huge need and a good trade for us

I did too. I thought we had to use him much more and he got a little dinged up. It costs big guys like that when they play banged upI thought Hankins was much better in 22 than 23.
We were different after he went down with the injury in 22, To be clear I'm not saying Hankins wasn't good here.I think he was good and played his role well and the defense was better with him on the field. I just mean he wasn't playing at a Pro Bowl level or anything like that and that I do think we can replace him without a huge drop-off if we try. To this point, I don't think we have done that though. We can't keep expecting to pay out vet minimum deals and get good players, To some extent you get what you pay for.I thought Hankins was much better in 22 than 23.
Well....we got a Heck of a lot more out of Hankins than we paid for in 22. Even last year when he was down, he was still the best DT on the roster save OsaWe were different after he went down with the injury in 22, To be clear I'm not saying Hankins wasn't good here.I think he was good and played his role well and the defense was better with him on the field.
