A pick for a guy who could opt out and you get nothing for?

Seems fine
Or how about this? The Sixers can beat that deal with Harris and a 2029 unprotected first. It just has to be better than pick 30 that year. Harris is 39 million immediately off their books next year. That’s 3 million more per year than his 36 if he does a sign and trade and Wizards get Harris 39 million immediately off the books. Morris is also a one year deal but only 20 million comes off the books. Coffey is cheap at 3 ish but he’s there for 2 more years. Harris presents a clean break.

I think Wizards can do better than this Sixers deal. At the same time, this Sixers deal is much better than what was coming back to Wizards earlier today and it’s more money for Porzingas.

The downside is you as the gm may not get to use that pick.

And the difference between 23-30 is usually minimal. So unless you’re offering light protections it’s not

30 is a second round pick in this draft. I don’t think it’s very deep at all. In my eyes, it doesn’t have as much value to said GM as getting 2 times more cap off your books next summer.

The guys they were getting were expiring

The cap space is negligible

I have no idea what happened, but looking at the flurry of reports, it looked this happened;

"Hey, before we close this deal, is Brogdan healt..."- Clippers

"GTFO HERE CLIPPERS! WE DON"T NEED YOU!" -Boston

*silently to themselves*

"Shit. Now we need to find someone else to make the money work" -Boston

If I’m being honest, I think I’d be more attuned to trading PJ Tucker than Tobias Harris and having Harris go back to the 4. Not sure what PJ brings back but I would go 3 guards with Maxey Harden Melton
Tucker ain't bringing much back.
