I need help on the sign and trade rules. Can you get Barnes in a multi player deal in a sign and trade? I don’t think you can. I love Barnes and I think he fits great with this group and really would be an impact maker. But I don’t want to give him $39 million a year! That’s crazy. If they can give him a deal for 25-30 I think that’s an overpay that I’m good with. But that means multi player to make the deal work. As far as I know, you can’t do that.

I just think the Tobi noise on the Sixers end is twofold. 1) I think the Sixers want to know for sure how Harden works out. If Harden walks (not likely anymore) then they’re better off holding on to Tobi and being the team that gets cap next summer. If he comes back, then Harris expiring is the only piece that can be used to improve the roster. I believe that Harden’s likely deal would take away their MLE. 2) Morey being Morey. The big ask and over valuing sounds like all the Simmons stuff this time two years ago. This could be to buy time for Harden decision, could be Morey trying to hunt a certain piece like hindsight he was doing with Harden and the Nets, or they may wait thinking they can get more in a deal midseason or trade deadline.

This is a job for @WiggyRuss .

Sign and trade rules confuse me too.

But, this is a funny pic….lol

The sixers would be hardcapped at the first apron

Not sure they can keep harden and do a sign and trade

Cavs deal would have to be a three way. Their movable pieces would be LaVert sign and trade or Jarrett Allen. They aren’t dealing Mitchell Garland or Mobley. They just don’t have 39 million worth of movable pieces that would make it worth the Sixers while to part with Harris. The movable pieces don’t match what the Sixers need. They have cheaper and better LaVert in Maxey. They have a better 5 in Embiid > Allen. This one would have to be a three way. The only player I like for the Sixers on the Cavs roster is Okoro and he’s not much of an asset right now.

So here we are on Tobias Harris: Pistons Cavs Pacers don’t really net you much. Best situations are Bog and Hield. Both guys are poor defenders and Harris is worth moving for a two way wing who can be a 3 and D. Hield and Bog bring the offense but you take a step back with the defense. Harris defense has been underrated. These moves dont make the Sixers better. There’s good reason that the Pacers and Pistons are two of the worst teams in the league. Those rosters are ass. Anything worthwhile on the rosters they want to build around, not deal away.

If that’s the market for Harris then they have to find a 3 way deal or they have to wait it out until the deadline. Truth be told, the issue for the Sixers this spring hasn’t been Tobias Harris. It’s the stars coming up small. It’s risky to move Harris for pieces that can’t play defense when they’re gonna lean on a closing group with Maxey and Harden who are subpar defenders.

I like this for both teams

Indy needs more picks

No one signs there
Hield Harden Maxey in your closing defense = lay up line.

The only reason to move off of Harris is to get a true 3 and D guy.

you already played maxey and curry before

and you got melton

But hield is also flippable at the TD if need be.

If I’m making a move with an eye on another move that’s immediate belief that it’s a mistake. And Maxey Curry was an abortion that got Kevin Huerter a huge contract haha.

Just when I can’t like it anymore, you do this…and now I may die if it doesn’t happen…

If I’m being honest, I think I’d be more attuned to trading PJ Tucker than Tobias Harris and having Harris go back to the 4. Not sure what PJ brings back but I would go 3 guards with Maxey Harden Melton

Maybe the Wizards decided that in the end they don’t like taking it up the ass without Vaseline.

A pick for a guy who could opt out and you get nothing for?

Seems fine

Who has room? Houston? They will likely do better in a sign and trade.
