What I’ve heard recently is that it was Barnes and Hield and that Tobias wasn’t mentioned in deal and most importantly that Halliburton wasn’t offered. The guy you linked, Keith Pompey, is a guy I like. I listen to his Sixers pod. At the same time, he’s hit or miss on the rumors he reports.

However, we agree on this…if that was floated Morey should have jumped at that. It cleared two pieces of bad money and gave them access to a young piece with big upside and two role players that would have been scheme fits.
Yeah, no long term money unless it’s a core piece.

Question: Who is available in free agency?

I haven’t actually looked.

But, you can also get guys via trade.

So, maybe that’s not as important.

If there is proof that Harden and Morey had a handshake deal, the NBA should lower the BOOM.

Like @The Q said, fuck Philly up, Joe Smith style and bar Harden from signing with the Clippers for a year.

Why a year?

Because Ballmer should be ready to blow it up by then.
If there is proof there, then Morey is the dumbest man around. You never do anything like that in writing or email or text message. That’s gotta be spoken and it has to be presented in a shady way like “one good turn deserves another and we would be in a better position to help you next summer.” That’s sufficiently shady enough to protect that plausible deniability. For all we know, the Sixers can claim that they’ve already been punished for this with losing two second round picks last year. Much of what the NBA brought in their argument at the time was that Harden taking less was part of their tampering argument against the Sixers.

No idea honestly.

Minnesota lost five years of first round picks. If that comes the Sixers way, their 2025 and 2027 first round picks are already traded. Sixers would be without a first round pick until 2031!!!! That’s insane.

Fuck you Daryl Morey if they can put this on you.

I don’t actually want that to happen to you.

I’m just desperate to keep him away from my team.

Said this several times on here....SAS is a great listen when doing interviews on other people radio/podcast shows.

Just finished watching the full episode of him on PG podcast.

Top 5 big man right now? Is this one of those podcasts where they smoke up before pressing record?

Nope. I think he mean true centers and considering there's very few of those, don't think that statement is that crazy

It's kinda crazy. It's not like there's some kind of conspiracy keeping Boogie out. He had multiple chances over the last couple of years and couldn't stick anywhere. He's just not good enough anymore.

I think he's better than DeAndre Jordan. Always found it very weird that Denver didnt bring him back. That was his best stint recently and the best backup 5 for Jokic

Not a lot of true centers in the league

Embiid
Jokic
Gobert
Allen
Zubac
Lopez
Val
Vucevic
Adams
Poetle or however you spell his name

Thats 10 i can think of right now. I would take Cousins on my team over someone like Andre Drummond for example and most of the backup bigs in the league. The main point SAS was making which i agree with is he should be in the league and not playing in PR

Yeah, it really is though.

On offensive skill alone?

Maybe.

But there are 2 sides of the floor and Cousins has been a huge liability defensively since his injuries.

Offense only centers are role players in today’s NBA.

I agree he is a skilled enough player to be on somebody’s roster, but then you got the issue of a potential malcontent not getting a big enough role where he will be happy.

Hopefully he can get another chance.

But saying he would be top 5 today is flat insane.

He isn’t good enough to warrant the role that he believes he should have

Which is starter and 1st or second option.

Hard to have that in your locker room if that guy is also a big, outspoken personality.

Yep....

When I have said Cousins should still be in the League....at the very least as a backup big, I have been told he is garbage and finished.

Most recently? In just 14mpg with Denver he averaged 9ppg, 5.5rpg and 1.7apg. Not many backup bigs putting up that in such limited Mpg.

He can score and rebound and is a pretty good passer for a big. And he can shoot pretty decently for a big.
