Y’all want to cry for Morey?

Remember he turned this down/ wasn’t interested in the deal in 2022 because he was desperate to reunite with his Boo Thang, Harden.

If this is true, He’s a fucking clown too.

The Sacramento Kings have reportedly considered a trade package of Tyrese Haliburton, Buddy Hield, Harrison Barnes and two-first-round picks in exchange for the Philadelphia 76ers' Ben Simmons, Tobias Harris and Matisse Thybulle, according to Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Pompey noted that the Sixers weren't interested in the package, however, and added that "sources have repeatedly said the Sixers are not interested in a deal involving De'Aaron Fox unless he's shipped to a third team."
This one has been heavily disputed. Not sure if this was on the table or not.

Good lord…The Sixers are about to be rid of the Tobias Harris contract and what represents what’s left of the Ben Simmons contract. And you’re in such a hurry to add more garbage assets just so they can ….checks notes….be a 4-6 seed in the East and get eliminated in the 2nd round again.

Nothing here at all is more valuable than $75 million off the cap next season.

The Poole one was a joke, and some of these would require adding a younger player and/or picks to balance out. I kinda like that Jazz trade.

Cap space is great and all, but who are you targeting out of next year's free agent class that won't already be dealt and or locked up before the summer? Do you really think Morey is going to let those expiring contracts go without trading them?

Uhhh yes. Every story about the Harden trade that talks about the Sixers values always entails getting back a piece that is a contender now or not doing anything at all because the Sixers value cap space going into next year. Why would they trade Tobias Harris if Harden is out? As you said, they’d have to send out young players on top of Harris to get anything decent back. Your thinking here is some poverty GM work.

Get your popcorn popped because the Sixers are in a position to actually win this game of chicken and for the first time, the player empowerment era takes a great Big L. These may be the only circumstances where a player demands a trade and a destination and then doesn’t get what they want.

Then they need to trade Embiid now. The asset will never be worth more. I think that trade value chart the Ringer does has Embiid as the 5th or 6th best asset in the league. But they won’t do this deal because they’re trying to get a new arena. They trade Embiid and then the attendance goes down 50-75%

Nah, you need picks to get the right player anyway

You have like none to trade

Plus it’s gonna be less cap space cause maxey has a 13m QO

I’m not sold you won’t bring Tobias back unless you can get a max guy to sign with Philly, but embiid doesn’t seem like the recruiting type

Not sure keeping fat suit harden around is a W…

It’s not. Nothing on the table is “W”. It’s varying degrees of L the Sixers are taking.
No, nothing that resembled a win was ever coming out of what the Ben Simmons situation turned into. Harden thinking he had another bag coming after what he did to multiple teams is the biggest part of this, I hope the Sixers hold their ground.

Nah. That’s dumb. What they bring back should make them a championship contender or it’s not worth doing. The payoff in no deal is $75 million of expiring cap. If Harden isn’t there they aren’t a serious contender. If they bring back pieces like the Clippers trash they’re looking to get rid of then they’re still not a contender. They’re now in spin mode trying to mitigate a “loss”. The best way to do that is cap space next summer. Dealing him for the sake of dealing him just results in Embiid wanting to say I’m out. That’s almost guaranteed. Embiid may beg out anyway in the end, but this gives them time to get out ahead of it.

You're not a title contender with him.

And even if you were, he says he won't play, so, if he sticks to his word, you won't have him anyway.

Gotta wonder what Embiids thoughts are on all of this. His title window is shrinking while this stuff is going on and none of it is getting him closer.

So what is the solution?

You either keep him for the season, in which he refuses to play, and let him go for nothing next year, or see what you can get for him which right now is pretty much the bare minimum.

Not a single team in the league is going to give you anything of value for him right now. At best you might be looking for a single first round pick.

Guessing he saw what Harden brought and isn’t too keen on playing with him anyway. In fact that actually could be the reason if Morey actually changed his mind.

What does/did Harden bring that Embiid doesn't like? And if that's the case, what exactly is Embiid looking for?

Not for me to answer, but disappearing in big games is what Harden does.

He'd just turn a Nuggets/Heat highlight into a soliloquy about Aaron Rodgers
