I don’t really hate him, but I’m not real big on people that act like pos no. Sorry but I’ll wait for proof and not believe a fn word Harden said. Even if he thought he was promised a deal stuff happens in a year. Get it in writing. I guarantee you we aren’t going to hear any complaining from other players, everyone is done with this guy.
This isn't a 9-5 job lol. You're not going to that in writing via email. Lets call it what it is....Morey is a piece of shit

Sorry I’m not calling anyone that for giving Harden what he deserved. It’s so long overdue. Let me know when a single player complains.

Chris Paul indirectly called him a liar when he was traded from Houston as well

Paul came out of it fine I think. I’m not saying Morey is someone I’d want to have any dealings with, just saying no one should be crying for Harden, and they aren’t.

Easy for me, Morey.

Hold the line, Fat Man!!!!

I don’t think that is fair.

Morey has not done a good job in Philly.

But, at the same time, he is not afraid to make bold moves.

Sure, they have not worked out so well, but mostly because he tied his fate to James Harden.

And let’s keep in mind, not too long ago the Morey led Rockets were the 2nd best team in the NBA behind an all time great KD Warriors.

Morey deserves his criticism for sure. But he is far from the worst GM in the league.

There are plenty who have done absolutely nothing.

And others who have actively and consistently made their teams worse.

Gotta wonder what Embiids thoughts are on all of this. His title window is shrinking while this stuff is going on and none of it is getting him closer.
No doubt. That’s why no deal is likely the best of bad situations because that gives them at least cap space to add pieces next summer. Going forward, there is now big pressure and opportunity for Maxey. With Harden AWOL he has to show that he can be that Robin and then they shop for fit next summer with what should be about $25-30 million of space.

And likely the finals had cp3 not gotten hurt

So what is the solution?

You either keep him for the season, in which he refuses to play, and let him go for nothing next year, or see what you can get for him which right now is pretty much the bare minimum.

Not a single team in the league is going to give you anything of value for him right now. At best you might be looking for a single first round pick.

Seeking a deal likely means that they take back contract years. That’s not good when the goal is holding access to cap space in 2024. It’s one of the reasons the Sixers offered Harden no new contract to even think about. They don’t want to add salary to their books for 2024. So the solution is to sit him and put up with the distraction. Who cares about distractions for a team that isn’t winning a championship anyway. What are they distracting him from?

Im curious who you think you’re getting that’s better than harden and Harris

The clippers can send all expiring deals minus Kobe brown who went 30 this year

That’s something that keeps their cap clean

Hopefully pieces that fit better. They need a three and D wing.

Bro, I just don’t want him with the Clippers.

Morey has been problematic.

I just need him to do me this one solid.

Hold the line, Fatty!!!

True. Maybe at the deadline you take that shit deal. But take it now and you run the risk that Embiid wants out. Now what you tell Embiid is that you won’t settle for a deal that doesn’t bring back a piece to help. The corpse of Marcus Morris Batum and RoCo aren’t changing that.

This one has been heavily disputed. Not sure if this was on the table or not.
The fact that they shipped him to Indy tells me …….maybe.

Sabonis is better than Simmons, that is clear NOW.

Then?

Ben wasn’t a complete dumpster fire.

Just partial.

Getting your assets ahead of time gives you time to make a move at the deadline…

What I’ve heard recently is that it was Barnes and Hield and that Tobias wasn’t mentioned in deal and most importantly that Halliburton wasn’t offered. The guy you linked, Keith Pompey, is a guy I like. I listen to his Sixers pod. At the same time, he’s hit or miss on the rumors he reports.

However, we agree on this…if that was floated Morey should have jumped at that. It cleared two pieces of bad money and gave them access to a young piece with big upside and two role players that would have been scheme fits.

That’s also how you let Embiid and his agent push you into making a move at the deadline that pisses away the cap space protected by either A) keeping Harden or B) swapping expiring deals with Clippers.

If there is proof that Harden and Morey had a handshake deal, the NBA should lower the BOOM.

Like @The Q said, fuck Philly up, Joe Smith style and bar Harden from signing with the Clippers for a year.

Why a year?

Because Ballmer should be ready to blow it up by then.
