And I think that would be the difference for those who would choose Lebron.

Lebron entered the league with a grown man, NBA ready body. Wemby's gonna need a whole lotta cheeseburgers and some weight training.
Just my opinion but I believe anyone who did not already have a stud SF would take Lebron. They may also take him.

Cmon man.

You know I and many others here post in hyperbole.

Of course some GMs would have taken LeBron because he was a damn good prospect.

I believe most (like 2/3 - 3/4) would take Wemby.

So that is where my statement comes from. That doesn’t mean that I think 100% of GMs would take Wemby.

I do think the ones who are being honest would.

At the same time, when we have the value of hindsight and see LeBron’s accomplishments, GMs are actually incentivized to lie if asked that question.

Because you can’t look bad if you answer LeBron.

100% I would take a Lebron-esgue player. He had a more understood and repeatable path to greatness in the NBA. Wemby is an outlier who should be great, but the history for "unicorn" spindly bigs that can play on the perimeter hasn't necessarily been kind (and injuries have been frequent).

So 60%-70% of GM’s would take Wemby? I strongly disagree with this and it has nothing to do the product he is now. I am going on the prospect was Lebron was at the time. Wemby had size bc he is essentially a big but Lebron was better at virtually every facet of the game. Those are just the facts.

Not even sure I'd say fact he's better at every facet as could certainly think the 7-5 guy would be a better rebounder and rim protector if nothing else.

But I agree my opinion is it's kooky talk to think 60-70% would take Wemby.

I'm skeptical because its coming from Ric Bucher, who doesn't have that good of a track record these days, but if true, just add this to the pile of evidence that shows Zion just doesn't want to put in the work required to be a professional. From training, conditioning, and game refinement, its starting to look like he's just content to have made it to the NBA

Yeah, I listened to the podcast.

What Bucher said made a lot of sense.

Zion can’t depend on his hops.

Ric Bucher on Zion Williamson: Where are the floaters, up and under layups, his pull up jumpers at the elbow? Now from what I’ve been told, he’s shown no interest in developing any of those tricks. Tricks that Blake Griffin learned along with a decent three-point shot when the injuries started to pile up for him, and allowed him to single-handedly drag the Detroit Pistons to a playoff berth. It may not seem as impressive as what he did with the Clippers in his heyday, but to me, what he did with Detroit was a true reflection of how he learned to play the game when he no longer had that freakish athleticism.

Dude, the comment was totally aggregated.

I posted the context in the post after yours.

He's barely been in the league of late, he should be over it lol.
Yeah, but he sued and lost.

Not only that, had to pay Paul commission on 5 million….lol

Back in September 2022, Noel's $58 million lawsuit was dismissed by a judge. Per Shams Charania, the case has now been settled. Noel will pay Paul and Klutch full commission on the one-year, $5 million deal he signed with the New York Knicks in 2020.

He's not even on Spotrac's FA centers list. He's a forgotten man in the NBA.
