After several consecutive years of Shaq dominating him, Embiid would go on a tear filled press tour about how he deserves to win now. Voters will side with him voting him as the winner. When they meet in the playoffs Shaq dominates again and Embiid blames his teammates.

Way too far fetched to ever happen….

who did the Lakers add to the squad beside Gabe Vincent?

They retained the core of a team that made it to the WCF, and improved in positions they were struggling in last season.

Weak smack talk, one-nut!

The Lakers did well adding role players. The reason some are underwhelmed is that it’s all still on Anthony Davis. They will live and die with the season he has. Not really anything they could have done to change that though.

I agree

It does sound like they want to send him East
Not trading him to a contender would be the ultimate slap in the face as thats the only reason he want out. It may lead to the end of star players grinding it out with a small market club

It's not about who they added, it's about who they brought back. This team was put together at the deadline and went to the WCF. they brought back the main core and with a full training camp and season together, they should be better.

Not saying they will come out of the West, but they are right there in the mix.

Of course, the health of Lebron and AD will be the biggest factor for them. On paper, they should be able to keep from bottoming out if they have to be without either of them for a few games here and there. Especially if they're not out at the same time.

Only so many contenders have the assets

Especially with the new rules that the players stupidly negotiated for

They did this to themselves

Should’ve at least dropped the stepien rule for everything they gave up

The players seem to have helped themselves with teams having to be at 90 percent of the cap at season open instead of season end. It’s not and shouldnt be all about the elite players.

Yep they added role pieces but it was a lot of swapping in and out

Not all the pieces they swapped in are necessarily better than the pieces swapped out

It will all comedown to AD & Bron

Yeah, that could be said about pretty much any team. AD is just a bit more of a risk given his injury history.

I get that but i think Dame woild rather stay in Portland than go to another team with a similar roster construction and going nowhere. He wants to go somewhere he can win a title...not another Portland situation.

Top players will never stay at a small market again if they decide to trade him to utah or something

Maybe that's part of what the tweet @Mecca posted about players watching how Portland treats Dame was talking about?
