The Lakers were responsible for their playoff exit in 2003 and also for probably their best chance at a title during KG's tenure in the 2004 WCF.

So, sending him to the Lakers would have been incredibly bad optics for their fan base. Heck, they probably enjoyed watching him get his ring by beating the Lakers. lol
That fucking Sam Cassell injury. I will always believe they take that series with him healthy.

So the Pacers got a bit of a trade steal by getting Obi for two seconds. Thanks Thibs.

With that, Warriors may have just lost out on any value of significance for Kuminga. Congratulations @CitySushi @msgkings322

I'm sure Detoit will give you Alec Burks and a second round pick next February.

Herro didn't play in the postseason....a healthy Herro offsets the loss of Vincent and Strus next season.

IMO.

But they had all of those guys last year.

They aren’t getting better as you would hope a team in a title contention window would.

If they get Dame?

All that changes.

Probably a young star.

They want Mikal.

Brooklyn is like hell to the no.

That's why I think their only shot at a star is a Harden trade. A team with a young star is looking to build around him. They'd be looking to add Dame to that young star, not replace him with Dame.

Strus was expected to leave. Vincent is the one that hurts but they clearly had inside information that he will demand a trade and request Miami as he & Bam are friends....just a matter of getting it done somehow

I do agree the offseason will be a failure even thought it wouldn't be their fault if Portland decides to ind a better deal and not respect Dame wish

Yeah, losing Strus not a big deal.

They have others who can do what he does more or less.

And Cleveland paid him what could very well end up looking like a bad contract in a couple years.

I remember the Lakers won that 4-2 and I believe the games were close. That was also the "4 Hall of Famers" team that imploded in the finals.

So you may very well be right. Had they gotten there, they probably beat the Pistons too.

Spurs and Utah.

They have a ton of young guys, not Star level.

But, I don’t wish either of those scenarios on Dame.

I actually want him to go to the Heat or Philly.

Still, both of those situations are problematic.

Philly has to come with Maxey and they won’t.

Miami doesn’t have what they want.

Could you imagine someone approaching you about buying your house, that you don’t have listed to sell, and telling you that you should be the one responsible for selling their home so they can take the one you don’t want to give up?

That’s what SOME people who think the Blazers should find a way to make this Miami thing work are essentially suggesting.

Gotta fork it up for a top defensive center. Not many 7 foot guys can guard the perimeter. SG&A and Giddey throwing lobs to Chet and JA.

Gotta pay up to live the dream
Bro, or just go get Capela….lol

Much cheaper to get, I’d imagine.

Look what they took for Collins.

Issue of no depth. Cassell, Hassel, Spree, KG made a killer starting group. Ervin Johnson played enough defense to not be a liability.

Bench though...oof. Troy Hudson, was ok. Hoiberg hit 45% of his 3s. Then you are giving minutes to Olawukandi, Mark Madsen, and Gary Trent.

It was a 4 man team, could not afford to lose 1 minute of any of the 4. Bummer, but the most expected result.
