I think it's best for Portland that they trade Lillard now. I'm not upset by this at all. They weren't going anywhere the next few years and I'd rather see them get assets and build with their young guards. Brooklyn just has better assets for Portland at the moment. I'm sure Portland would want to send Lillard to his preferred destination and I think that's still likely. I just don't think Portland has any interest in Herro.
...or any of Miami's "assets"; Robinson's bad contract, Lowry, first rounders 5 years out, etc.

Via trade, possibly.

Damn near All the good unrestricted FA are off the board.
You could find some value guys still like Craig, maybe Beasley. Bropez is still unsigned...

Plenty? Better get this deal done quick or the FAs will be well picked over.

Even if Portland got Jovic and Martin, the draft picks are going to be too far out to fit the youth movement. 2028? Blazers might have to USE a pick to get rid of Duncan's deal. Ugh.

That's part of why I don't see it happening. Too much depends on trades and depending on Wemby to not have too much of a learning curve.

Pop is a GOAT convo coach, but it just seems like there's too much that would have to fall perfectly in place to pull it off.

He just asked out of your franchise. Why would they bend over after being led along, then given a demand like this? I would move him for the best offer made, with minor consideration for his wishes between similar offers.
If that were true the Heat wouldn’t even be in this. Knicks nets Sixers clippers can all offer better.

Ok let’s hear some offers for Micic. Who needs a ready to go experienced point guard in his prime?
