Called this shit last summer. He wanted the extra year max only the Wiz could give him and then he would want a trade.

Reportedly the Wiz are interested in moving into the top 3. I don't see Beal as a fit in Portland (not much different from CJ in terms of fit), but would Charlotte have any interest?

The more I look into the Beal situation it’s gonna be a bad deal for somebody. In addition to having a no trade clause, he also has a 15% trade kicker. He’s like 54 million, 57 million, 61 million for the next 3 years post trade. This is for a player that played 40 games two years ago, 50 games last year, and either can’t or refuses to defend. Yikes. I’ve done a 180 here. I don’t want the Sixers to have any parts of this.

That contract is atrocious BUT the right fit and team he could be a final piece to a championship. That is the only way the move pays off for a team imo

Who does he get over the top while also shipping out 53-54 million in existing contracts? I’m hearing Miami and Herro. Does Lowry go out with that to make salaries work? I don’t see how that gets them over the top. Maybe I’m wrong.

Miami. I really don't see any other teams. Yeah Lowry would have to be included I believe. He is expiring too

Beal is definitely better than Herro. Lowry had a nice playoffs but he doesn't have much left, too unreliable and old.

I read The kicker won’t happen since it would put him over the league max

Brooklyn

Houston has the cap space to make it happen

It depends where beal is willing to go too.

Orlando could make a push for him if he’s willing to go there

He’d be surrounded by length and defense

Could be fun

Is he? How much better? Neither guy can defend. Beal gets 3 more PPG, Herro shoots 38% from 3 and Beal 37%. I don’t see him really making that much of a difference in this swap other than bringing a bigger name to the mix.

Most of the championship level teams needing a final piece are close to or maybe already at the 2nd apron luxury tax threshold. So not only would you be taking in Beal's horrendous contract, you're also gonna be hard capping yourselves by putting yourself over that apron. That should take quite a few teams out of the market. If you're in that situation, you better be damn sure the players you have on your team are enough to get to Finals for the next couple of years. Not a "well, if things break right" situation, but a "for sure, we're at least a final 4 team". Because once you make that move, you're gonna be stuck with the roster you have and nothing but vet mins guys to sign.

19 and Kuminga gets them where....18 lol?

The problem is they’d still have to take back some salary

Atlanta is a petty good fit imo

Yeah Miami and Philly have the contracts to make it easy

Portland can get there with Simon’s nurkic and floatsam

But they’d have like a 6 man roster and be paying the tax…

I don't see how that would help the Heat. They need a true big, not another guard.
