Yeah because that's where the problems lie???? Further proof this team needs a new GM

How many worthwhile QB's are out there?
This is the question to which there is no answer. IMO it's hit or miss the only recent QB I felt was sure fire pick was Manning maybe Luck,. It's a gamble no matter what, you have to trust your scouts and homework and hope for the best. But potential this year about 6 I think

So why is working out special teamers and WR's proof of BB's failings?

I made my comment based on my opinion that those areas are not the reason we are doing so poorly
Copy that.

I see it as a reason he has been so successful over the years. He leaves no stone unturned, always looking to improve even positions that are not the weakest. Besides. If he feels we may need a punter or place holder and has his finger on one now, he can then have an extra 5th/6th round pick to use to move up if needed to leapfrog someone else in the second or third round.

We just drafted a punter if he missed the mark then again his GM duties come into question

So keeping options open is a bad thing? Players never get hurt and have to go on IR?
If a punter can be found on the street that is better he should stick with the one that was drafted rather than do what puts the team in a better position to win?
Some fan duties have come in to question.

He screwed the pooch with his 2 kicker picks. Especially trading up to get our kicker. 2 picks on the leagues 30th ranked kicker. There are 2 undrafted kickers who are in the top 10. Folk(team mvp) is a top 5 kicker. The fact he’s pulling no names off the street shows how bad he messed up.

Don't try putting words in my mouth, I did not say anything remotely close to that. If the rookie punter is worse than the proposed punter off the street IMO it's more than fare to question how well the rookie was scouted and researched. I think it's also fair to question why we are scouting ST guys when that seems to be the least of problems.

I agree, it's fair to question WTF BB is doing as a GM.

IMO, BB is doing it to shift attention from him and BOB to the PK and P. By bringing in long snappers as well, he doesn't realize how bad it makes his drafting a kicker in the 4th round look. Two weeks ago Ryland kicked a 54 yard FG. Sunday, he may have misjudged just how much the wind would or would not affect the 49yarder he missed. Then again, piss poor play calling put the team in a position where Ryland was kicking the ball a half field length.

I don't think Ryland or the punter are that bad at all. Both are rookies and both have been relied upon to keep this team afloat. Special Teams have always been a critical part of Belichick's game plans. Maybe he's relying a bit too much on that part of the game when the offense is in dire need of
a bone marrow transplant.

Remotely close, yes.
"We just drafted a punter if he missed the mark then again his GM duties come into question".
To which I asked;
"So keeping options open is a bad thing? Players never get hurt and have to go on IR?
If a punter can be found on the street that is better he should stick with the one that was drafted rather than do what puts the team in a better position to win?"

Again keeping options for a back up plan I would think would be a good thing for a GM/HC to do. If the kicker goes down who replaces him?
Do you ever have a back up plan for anything? Generator for a long blackout? 5 gal gas that is shared with the lawn mower or a 100lb propane cylinder? Batteries and a flashlight? Candles? Extra bag of charcoal for the weber? Case of bottled water?
Gas stove or electric? Gas hot water or electric? How long a blackout can you expect? When I was in Virginia Beach a hurricane could put you in the dark for a couple weeks and a couple days was almost expected. My generator would not run the whole house at once (AC, Microwave, hot water, freezer and lights) so I had to compensate. Tornadoes and ice storms are the hazard here in TN with the same issues. But a back up plan to the back up plan is wise. Why do I need a flashlight if I have a generator? Why do I need back up batteries if I have one set and a generator? Why a bag and a half of charcoal if I have a gas stove and a generator?

A good GM has a back up plan for every position regardless of what he has now. New guy not good enough? Oh, nobody has EVER overlooked a better option when drafting?

I'll lay both my nuts in the vice if you can prove the Jets, the 49ers, the Ravens, the Steelers, the Rams and the Browns didn't want a mulligan in the 2000 draft, along with 25 other teams.
And why did Bill draft Brady when he already had 3 QB's??? Because maybe there is something better out there that should be given a shot.

If the rookie punter is worse than the proposed punter off the street IMO it's more than fare to question how well the rookie was scouted and researched.
How much of the Pats scouting dept and coaching staff has been pilfered by other teams?
I think it's also fair to question why we are scouting ST guys when that seems to be the least of problems.
Again, If you need a QB and an Oline and you only bring in QB's and Olineman and your punter pulls a hammy or gets in a car wreck, are you really doing your best as HC/GM? Besides, didn't he work out a QB last week?

If I need Strawberries I generally don't squeeze lemons while in the produce section
If I need ground beef for spaghetti I usually look at the coffee section to see what's on sale. As well as steaks, Ice cream, cereal, shit tickets, english muffins, peanut butter...

You know, full pantry in case my long snapper gets his hand stuck in some floozy's snatch.

When I'm at the grocery store I go straight for the beer.
I then look for the other items I need but I check every single thing that is on sale.
Not that I need it but it mighy be a buy I want anyways.

Speaking of walking around the grocery store...which is where I was when I lost motor function to my legs due to my (1) ruptured and (1) herniated discs... How's the back/leg?

have you tried any specific stretches or inversion table to reduce pressure on the nerve to buy yourself any time whaile they decide if you are healthy enough for surgery?

I have passed all my tests / inspections and I'm waiting for my doctor to fax clearance to my back surgeon.
I'm walking as little as possible and the pain is manageable.
My right leg is weak and I'm pushing for surgery.
I'm reluctant to try anything else right now because I have so many disc injuries and old fractures.

I was not aware that you had lost motor function in your legs. Did you have surgery and how are they doing now?

Yeah it was weird.
I've had lower back issues for decades and have visited chiropractors in virtually every state I've worked in.
Running is great because it helps keep the weight down and heart clean but the knees and lower back pay the price.
Running was not my initial issue, basically working too hard, lifting things I shouldn't have been lifting, improper lifting techniques etc.
So one day I had some issues and visited old smokey, my long term chiropractor only to find he'd retired. Got a new guy who wasn't as good, a couple of weeks and he wasn't getting the adjustment. Started having tingles and numbness in my legs and sometimes massive ache in my right leg.
Sometimes I had to look and see if my pants were wet to see if I'd pissed myself. Weird feelings. My legs also started getting weak.
One day at the grocery store, still in the parking lot, a car was coming and I tried to run across the road, just out of courtesy and "wham" no signal transmitted to the legs.
Like my brain said "Run" and the legs got the signal "Nothing". Not "keep walking", not "Stand", not "Support this dumbass upright".

Timber...

I got back up and went about my day with basically weak legs but that's when I decided to see a doc. Doc said xray/mri and orthopedic specialist.
by the time I got to the reading of the MRI, I was sitting in waiting room when the orthopedic doc came out to get me, he called my name and I jumped up and took a couple of strides across the room and he about came out of his skin.
He said I've never seen anyone with a ruptured disc and a herniated disc move like that. He showed me the MRI. I still have it on DVD.

He said no surgery unless it happened again, as surgery at that point may have the inverse effect. He advised inversion table and stretches but no chiropractor.
I have been fine ever since. and even run a few more races. No more chiropractors. I really think the last guy messed me up.
