I can't believe I'm about to say this but I would be in favor of tanking the rest of the way for draft picks.

I don't think this team can be fixed this season in any meaningful way that will cause them to compete with quality teams.
We either need a decent QB via FA and go all in on offense or all in on a QB for the future.

And not a Cam Newton wannabe.

Just curious... Other than Cam, who wants to be Cam Newton?
At this point, I think Cam wishes that he was someone else. He had a good year and one sparkling year with the Panthers. The remainder were nothing that he'd want discussed in detail.

Cam had a very good career.
It ended with his post-injury career as scapegoat for the Patriots.

He should have retired and we should not have signed him.

Didn’t see that one coming

I'm confused. They elevated him to the active roster and gave him a raise via 3 year deal, didn't they?

If he gets picked up on the waiver wire does the new team have to pick up the 3 year deal?

Maybe they're making room for somebody else assuming he'll fall back to them????

Otherwise, I'm confused.

The 3 year extension creates a bitter pill (kinda like a poison pill, but more unpleasant than deadly) which will discourage other teams from grabbing him. As far as being on the active roster, that could have been a diversion to distract the game prep for the opposition.

Let's face it, the one play he did execute didn't look like was well practiced.

Trey Flowers was waived from PUP also.

The contract is a poison pill. If Cunningham is picked up, he must be placed on a team's 53 man roster and can't be placed on the PS. It's a double whammy. Unless a team is going to play him immediately, they won't touch him.

The way this season is going I would have zero issues cutting Grier and bringing up Cunningham

Shocker. Just kidding.

Malik Cunningham back with the Patriots.

I find it weird that damned near everybody on earth assumed that's exactly what was going to happen yet there were countless articles about how much of an idiot BB is for signing him to the 53 and then waiving him. People need to write shit and sell ads.

It seems Cunningham would be a good weapon in a Tysom (sp) Hill kind of role. Dunno what they are doing as always, but hope they can continue playing well.
