Very good read. Author looks at the perspective of our pending free agents after 2023 with our 2023 draft......

That is type of WR I would like in the mid rounds. And allows BB to work the draft.

I often felt you win the draft in rounds 2 thru 4. I know that sounds stupid to a lot of people but I feel you add depth, quality depth in those rounds, there are potential diamonds there, the risk vs reward factor is more palpable etc.

It's a trade that makes sense for a lot of reasons.

1. It provides more draft capital and we still address a position of need.

2. It does give us a potential #1 WR (Potential!!!) No one knows how these things can go.

3. The trade with Bmore could be capital needed to move up for Washington.

Landing Flower and Washington taking two O line men with the next picks could be a winning scenario.

I have no issues with a WR in RD2. I have no issues with trading 14 to gain draft capital and taking best OT available where ever we drop to
We have 1st round CB's, TE's OT's and others that we don't need as much.
At 14 we will have opportunity for 1st year starters.
A lot will be determined by what other teams ahead of us take.
At 46 there will be a lot of WR's available - but will there be a #1? - doubtful.
At 76 there will still be a lot of good WR prospects.

I want a top OT at 14 but if the ones Bill likes are gone, a top CB could be on the table.....

Again a lot depends on who is there at 14. If you drop from 14 to 20,22,24,26 and pick up another round 2 pick there is still plenty of talent

Evan Hull, Northwestern, 5-foot-10, 209 pounds

There wasn't an FBS back with more receiving yards than what Hull posted for the Wildcats last season (536 yards). Then consider the excellent combine he put together -- 4.47-second 40, 37-inch vertical, 10-foot-3 broad, 6.9-second three-cone -- and he should be on every team's list of intriguing pass-catching back options.

He also is only a jr. that did 21 reps on the bench. Projects to be a back up/STs. I'm concerned for running a 4.47 many pundits say he's not quick. More of a plodder and downhill type. Struggles with blocking. Maybe use a 5th or 6th on him if BB hasn't already taken a RB?

Analysis

By Lance Zierlein
NFL Analyst
Overview
Compact, muscular runner with below-average explosiveness but decent downhill power. Hull’s lack of suddenness and foot quickness to quickly get in and out of cuts allows defenders to track him down. He needs to play with as much downhill movement as possible, so he will need a quality offensive line in front of him to succeed. He’s a very capable route-runner and pass-catcher but he needs to improve in pass protection for consideration as a third-down option. Hull might need the perfect team fit to stick around on a roster long-term.

Notice that there was no mention of OLs at all?? BB is trying to put attention on some of his defensive players and making it look like no one on offense was worth giving a kudo.

Slick Willie move??
Belichick:

"'I just want to let you all know before we step out on that field, I haven't seen one single player here that could beat out the worst player on our team. You're terrible, you don't belong here, and you better get out there and show us something or you're never gonna make the NFL.' And he walked right out the door and went to practice."

Homework assignment. No way they take a QB in round 1. N o Way
Strengths
Prototypical size and build for an NFL quarterback.
Has experience taking snaps from under center.
Played in pro-style passing scheme requiring full field reads.
Athletic passer when working off-platform.
Release is compact, twitchy and effortless.
Extremely tough and played through injuries in 2022.
Serious arm talent with ability to complete passes in tight windows.
Can send deep passes over the heads of tardy safeties.
Ability to slide and throw simultaneously from the pocket.
Willing and capable as a runner near the goal line.
Weaknesses
Nearly a quarter of his passes were thrown to targets behind the line of scrimmage in 2022, per PFF.
Inconsistent post-snap confidence to throw on time.
Uncomfortable working against short zones.
Big struggles finding his rhythm as a passer in 2022.
Falls into off-platform throws rather than trusting the footwork.
Scattershot ball placement and accuracy on simple throws.
Poor feel inside the pocket for pressure points.
Career TD-INT ratio falls below 2:1 mark.
Poor second reaction decision-making with the football.
