Right....Now it is after 2, though. Heat stole home court and now it's over again but with the Heat winning.

They had an interesting discussion this morning on Dan Patrick.

They were discussing which game has a bigger overreaction, game 1 of the NFL season or game 1 of an NBA playoff series.

That is an interesting topic and not sure which has the bigger overreaction. It's close. I'll say NFL week 1 simply because so much more time to make up for the 1 loss.

Yeah, it’s a lot easier to see how an NFL team is going to perform overall when they’re in mid-season form I think, and also to see what injuries have transpired since the beginning of the season at that point.

Yeah, I don't think they ever reached a conclusion one way or the other.

The examples they used were things like, if the Lions beat the Chiefs in game 1, the overreactions are "the Lions are for real" and/or "the Chiefs run is over" and with the NBA it's "this series is going to be a short one".

Of course it matters, but the Heat don't have it any more than other good teams.

Last night's victory could've flipped very easily. The Heat definitely stepped up where they didn't in game 1, but had to hold on for dear life at the end.

Especially since a missed foot on the line makes that a tie game essentially last night.

Miami has a smaller margin for error than Denver does.

But they proved last night they aren’t going down without a fight.

And maybe not at all.

This play-in stuff is a bit of a constructed story though. Before the unnecessary play in tourney, the Heat were the 7 seed with a 3 game cushion. It's not like a 9 or 10 fought their way in; the Heat just had to go .500 in 2 additional (and IMO unnecessary) games. Can the gimmick.

Actually, they didn't. They made more 3 point shots, but the Nuggets made 1 more shot from the field and 1 more shot from the line.
