I think Tyrann really did love KC and wouldn't be surprised if he took less to stay in KC but like you said, could be more of an age thing.

This 100%. I think he really wanted to stay, but not at anywhere close to the money they'd offer him. They wanted to get younger/healthier at the position. Gotta be honest about it.
