They can dump considerable cap by getting rid of Garappolo. Team are looking for the next Deebo, can't see SF moving him unless his demands are outrageous and the trade return is considerable.

I agree. I don't really see the Niners moving him unless a team like the Jets makes a big offer. Niner fans know that Bosa will be a higher priority than Samuel, and there is some thought that considering how the team uses Deebo, he won't be able to stay healthy for very long.

If I had to guess, I'd say that Deebo, having seen all these WR contracts, pressed for an extension of his own and the team told him that he'd have to wait (Jimmy's contract still on the books). And Deebo didn't like that. So, since he can't do anything meaningful right now, he took the ever-popular, passive-aggressive option of unfollowing the team. Whooptie-doo.

I disagree. After 2 straight 5-win seasons, Rhule is squarely on the hotseat, and he knows that if he goes into 2022 with Darnold under center, he might as well pack his things b/c if he doesn't show serious improvement this season, whether the team takes a QB in the 2023 won't matter since he won't be the HC. That's why I think they'll either draft a QB this year or go after Jimmy this summer (trade or FA)...or both.

Deebo being under contract for one more year. The Niners dont have to do anything. Wont make next season signing him likely, but then they could really piss him off by tagging him. I assume if they dont extend him this year, he is either traded this year or holds out next year. Well not sign his tag & go the direction of Bell.
