I see them drafting at least 2 qbs, one early and one late as well as signing possibly 2 as UDFA.

Matthew Stafford will be returning as the starting quarterback for the Los Angeles Rams in 2023, but it’s become apparent that they need to find a serviceable backup this offseason. With the draft taking place in the next couple of months, NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah discussed the current backup quarterback situation for the Rams and mentioned Hendon Hooker as an option.

“I really like Hendon Hooker,” Jeremiah said on a conference call. “I think he is a good player. I think he can do everything that Sean McVay wants to do. I think you start with accuracy and decision-making. He can move around, so you are going to be able to use all that stretch boot. He is going to be very comfortable doing that. He can think the game really well.”

That's a steep learning curve for an overaged guy. I would say "we'll see", but I hope we don't.

Luckily it is better to be a 25 year old qb than a 25 year old at any other position.

We have one qb on the roster, surprised you didn't draft one.

I am curious to see Stafford this year. He has played hurt often in his career, I have never seen him fall apart quite like he did last year. I don't know what he has left.

They talked all August about his elbow being whack. Most news that time of year can be ignored, but that one was legit.

As opposed to this year, he said he had no pain and feels good.

In 2012 the Lions had Suh, Megatron and Stafford. The 3 of them each had one of their best seasons as pros that year and all 3 played 16 games.

.....they won 4 games.

Megatron was 1st team All Pro that season, Suh and Nick Fairley were 2nd team All Pros that year.

Nick Fairley short career... remember a sack he had on Rodgers, maybe could have ended his career on the play. Picked him up like a sack of potatoes and "somewhat gently" tossed him to ground shoulder first... if he would have used any force no question Rodgers probably done for season.

They didn't have those needs last winter, other than Edge (once Von walked). Von signed one day before Robinson.
After 2020 we clearly had a need for a back-up RB in March/April of both 2021 and 2022. We've lacked depth at LB for at least 2 years and no back-up there has looked like he could be a potential starting quality player for another team.

LB (and DB) are always depth targets, if only for special teams. They did draft a RB last year and had Akers, Michel, and Henderson coming out of the Super Bowl. They didn't retain Michel. Akers underperformance early made the position weaker than it seemed.
