Y’all know he showed up to his pro day fat and out of shape and didn’t even make it through it?
I’ll take a flyer on the possibility of an elite DT IF you get the right word on his commitment to football. He’s risky because he seems to be a poor decision maker and that’s a bad recipe when a guy gets hands on life changing money

I'm not even sure giving his word would change anything. The man was watching his stock fall by the day due to that accident story, not to mention rumors that he wasn't the most dedicated worker. So his big chance to show he's still easily a top 10, even top 5 pick is to kick ass on his pro day and prove all doubters wrong. Yet despite the importance of this, he shows up overweight and out of shape to the point he couldn't even finish his drills. To me that screams avoid at all costs. If he's still on the board and the Bears choose him, I'll have no choice but to root for him. So naturally I'm hoping that some other team grabs him first or our GM has the mindset to take a pass even if he's available.

My feeling is I don’t care how a 330lbs guy does in drills. I’ve seen him play football. Give me game film over stop watch times from the underwear Olympics any day.

Sure, but showing up to a job interview completely unprepared and sloppy is a red flag.

Showing up at the wrong weight is a pretty big deal for his position imo. The rumor is that he is completely off the Raiders board after what happened with Ruggs. Wouldn't be shocked if he wasn't on the Lions board. He could definitely drop to 8 or 9.

I think Chicago takes him at 9, making their trade from 1, GREAT.

I think they'd do it, too, just for that reason. Arizona could trade down at 3 and take him, too, with the same thought process.

A big factor here will be how many qbs go high. Richardson and certainly Levis seem like qbs that are probably pretty polarizing in front offices if I had to guess.

Absolutely and for a less talented player would be an utter disaster. But, ask Deshaun Watson what inappropriate behavior does to your value

I was thinking maybe Seattle takes him, but yes Arizona is in play, trading back a few picks getting extra picks and Carter wiuld be a haul.

Seems like a big leap from no one willing to give up a 2nd round pick plus to no one willing to trade for him at all
makes one think the Cards might be happy to pay a portion of his contract before it's all said and done. Seems better than cutting him. I'm sure the Dallas rumors are flowing.

Bears or Eagles look like the floor for Carter.

It's not who or how good you are. It's what value is in your contract. For the Patriots Hopkins is a plus on the field, but a plus that's fully matched by his minus contract value, ($19.45M).

No reason for the Cardinals to accept a zero compensation trade. They would be better off designating him as a post June 1 cut...and there's no incentive to do that either. They might as well keep him until August as cut him.

Amazing to see a superstar contract with no 'early year' roster bonus that nudges a team towards a decision. Agents! :rolleyes2:

dont understand this.
Dont teams trade into the top ten for top talent?
Burning bridges isnt the smartest move.

If he has some kind of promise from the Eagles, it makes sense. If you know your worst case is falling to a team that just played in the Super Bowl and is more or less loaded around you, why encourage anyone else? Of course, if he doesn't have a promise like that, he is burning bridges. I'd be surprised if he makes it past Seattle though.
