I totally believe this. Nothing you heard discussed said the Cowboys offered him a big deal this year. Last year they definitely did to avoid the tag. I assume that is where this story came from. Cowboys seemingly never even spoke with him this offseason about a contract.

That sounds about right. If a guy is in the plan you negotiate prior to the last year. Very plausible the Cowboys offered him something solid with a level of guaranteed money. He balked on it, bet on himself, and you’d have to say he lost. He goes from a franchise that’s competing to one that’s on a rebuild and for less guaranteed money. I guess though if you’re going to take a show me deal he’s in a decent spot assuming they draft a QB that can get him the ball. Kind of risky though because his position is dependent on QB play.

Bears fans, looking for an assist here. Don’t know much about the guy. Eagles really don’t place much value on LB. However, it’s clear that your staff values TJ Edwards over this guy. I’m assuming it’s a dip in quality just based on that reality.

If nothing else you needed a LB badly. Dean only played 34 snaps last year so who knows what he will be. Who else do you even have?

Yeah but Rodgers contract isnt going to be super long term and fully guaranteed.

And he also is a QB that you know will age pretty well.

And Aaron Rodgers works pretty well in any type of NFL offense.

None of which is true of Jackson.

It shouldn't be a huge surprise that no team is jumping at the opportunity to chase Jackson. Especially knowing that Baltimore likely will just match the contract that is worked out anyway. This is Balt just trying to get another team to do the dirty work of setting up a contract structure for them. Because Jackson is operating as his own agent, it is a messy process. They are trying to keep their hands a little cleaner by having another team talk to him about realistic cap percentages and guarantees.

Rodgers recently said he was what, 90% retired before his darkness retreat? That would give me serious pause when considering giving up multiple 1sts for him.

Morrow won't disappoint. I might pull back a bit as far as labeling him true starter material, but I felt he played reasonably well for the Bears in that role last year. He brings hustle and discipline to the job.

Davion Taylor a 3rd round pick who hasn’t been able to do anything outside of special teams, another special teams guy whose name escapes me. Practice squad dude. They definitely need bodies for sure. They likely draft a LB and then sign a few undrafted RFA. Like I said, the Eagles don’t place a ton of value on LBs.

Sounds like what the Eagles are looking for at that position. Thanks!

I don't remember Taylor.

I loved Dean coming out of College but he really dropped like a rock in the draft. Seemed to be more than just the injury teams were concerned with. Will be interesting to see if he is an NFL caliber starter or not. If he wasn't an Eagle I'd be rooting for him!

I’m glad he got a redshirt year. He is light in the ass. In the work he did get though I thought he looked solid. I was surprised that he didn’t over take Kyzier White last year. White really didn’t make any plays. The LB I covet in this draft is the Iowa kid Jack Campbell. Eagles have a gap between the 30th pick and the 62nd pick. Unless they move up with their second or they trade back from 30 he’s likely not in the Eagles range. 30 would be an over draft and 62 is too late. I think he goes off the board somewhere like 45-52. Eagles don’t value LB but I do.
