Not gonna lie bro, he was rapidly climbing up my BPA. Easily the best RT in the draft and the man is famous for shutting down Will Anderson when they faced each other last year

I remember you said you wanted Darnell not too long ago.......and shutting down Anderson is a great aclompishment.....
Poles knows JF needs help first and foremost to see what hes got.....

I like the pick.

I like the pick. And yes obviously, the Bears did not trust Carters character or work ethic, plus, got a 4th rounder next year for free.

Braxton Jones and Wright are our bookends…Gonna be interesting. Gotta say that seeing Wright and Jenkins mauling together will be fun.

*Wright is a versatile offensive lineman who’s played both left and right tackle as a four-year starter at Tennessee. Wright is a reliable pass protector — not allowing a sack in 19 consecutive games — but needs to improve as a run blocker. He allowed just eight pressures last season, per PFF. Wright would be a plug-and-play right tackle for Chicago, who recently hosted him for a Top 30 visit.*

This guy's huge - 6'5/333lbs.....and yet still clocked 5.01 in his 40 time. Try to find another player in the draft his size that ran a 5.01 40 - good luck.

There are no more excuses for Fields. He needs to make BIG strides this year in the PASSING game.

Feels a little anticlimactic, in that we could've had arguably the best player in the draft, but the dude is a mauler, and the o-line should be set.

I fully expect a whole bunch of d-line picks coming next....er hope at least.

We could very well see some DL picks with our 53 and 61 or 64.

As for missing out on the best player in the draft, I'm perfectly willing to let the next few years sort that out. As far as having even a semi-lengthy career, I trust Carter about as far as I can throw him.

Poles set him up with DJ and a top olineman......

I cant wait for the season to get started.

Atleast the Lions and Packers both reached on their picks
To me, it's not so much that the Lions reached - Gibbs is a helluva RB. But it tells me they pretty much wasted the signing of Montgomery. I don't know the details of his contract, I know it's for 3 years, but not sure if they're all guaranteed. What's definitely guaranteed tho is they didn't use the 12th pick on Gibbs to share backfield duties and certainly not for 3 years.

I too thought Gibbs went to high for a team that really didnt need a rb,and really thought the Lions were going dl to team with Hutchinson......

Gotta admit i wanted Carter. The only silver lining is Poles and brass spent a lot of time interviewing Carter pre draft and they still passed on him. If i trust Poles, i have to think they saw something in Carter they still didn't like. But damn. Could of had the #1 guy with the 9th pick.

I like Gibbs and think he'll kick ass in the NFL. But again I ask, why would the Lions have inked Monty if they had intentions of taking Gibbs? That's the part which makes no sense.

I wanted Carter, but taking an olineman in the first round is the only other area I would’ve accepted in lieu of Carter. We got a stud RT and more draft capital next year. Not bad. A 4th rounder isn’t much, but it’s something in addition to the reach.

Our last two GMs wouldn’t have been as crafty.
