New England has waived Bailey Zappe, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. The franchise has also waived undrafted rookie Malik Cunningham, according to The Athletic's Jeff Howe.

This is true. Wish Cunningham made the Pats roster, they need a mobile QB... But who knows perhaps he will come back

Patriots waived QB Bailey Zappe.
Zappe was the assumed QB2 entering Pats training camp but has now been left off the initial 53-man roster. Last season, Zappe filled in admirably for Mac Jones, going 2-0 in two starts while throwing for 781-5-3 on the season. Zappe could revert back to the Patriots’ practice squad if he clears waivers, but it wouldn’t be surprising to see another team take a shot on him. Mac Jones is the only quarterback currently on the Patriots’ roster. In addition to Zappe, the Patriots also released/waived OL Chasen Hines, DL Jeremiah Pharms Jr., TE Anthony Firkser, OL Kody Russey, TE Matt Sokol, S Joshuah Bledsoe, QB Trace McSorley, P Corliss Waitman, RB C.J. Marable, TE Johnny Lumpkin, TE Scotty Washington, OL Micah Vanterpool, DT Carl Davis, DT Justus Davai, LB Diego Fagot, LB Carson Wells, CB Quandre Mosley, CB Rodney Randle, S Brad Hawkins, RB Kevin Harris, and QB Malik Cunningham.
