Patriots Rumors: Bailey Zappe, Malik Cunningham Waived; Mac Jones Only QB on Roster​

The New England Patriots made a couple of surprising moves at the quarterback position ahead of Tuesday's 53-man roster deadline.
New England has waived Bailey Zappe, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. The franchise has also waived undrafted rookie Malik Cunningham, according to The Athletic's Jeff Howe.

From the videos that have been shown since Zappe was cut, he had BOB tearing his hair out on the sidelines during the Titans game.

No one else had the slightest idea what was being discussed. BOB would apologize and say that it was reference to a play on the Alabama offensive play book. He would then go into detail and draw the plan out so everyone would understand what he was talking about. BOB was building the offense around Mac Jones and inserting Alabama offensive plays. Needless to say, Zappe and Cunningham were at a very distinct disadvantage."

Pretty simple. Mac has an offense that he's comfortable with, knows, understands and should, by all equations, have a tremendous season in 2023. He doesn't have the same surrounding cast but BB is trying to give him somewhat of a wall of protection. Can the WRs step up and be like the ones that Mac had at Alabama??
