Yeah, I mean he missed the previous year with a serious back injury, so having a slump isn't unexpected.

He's being paid a lot of money so why pout and have your agent do your talking for you over sitting out just one game?

Sack up, see what kind of energy the players on the ice, especially the rookies, are bringing and match it.
Excellent post!!!

Yea the deer in headlights moments are gut wrenching for sure. My wife was laughing at me cause she said that was the first time in a few years I was actually yelling at the TV during a Flyers game.
Its the passion of this years players that brings out the passion in all of us!!

Highlights of the game for me

Couts being benched, well deserved screw his agent.

Deslaurier with the TKO on Reaves

Tippett was a monster

Frost stepping up in a huge way as top center with Couts out.

The defense with 21 blocked shots between them

Errsson was not great but he was clutch!!

I started to worry about Frost when he took a second penalty. Quick way to get back into the Torts dog house. Ersson had so huge stops in the last few minutes.

Exactly! I've always said, I will root for any team who brings it every game win or lose. During these last few years of losing it has just been a sad state of affairs. It was a team lost at sea with absolutely no direction. Now it seems we have some new winds blowing in our favor and a Captain at the helm who can actually read a compass.

Honestly, those two calls on Frost didn't appear to be penalties.

Like, he tapped him with his stick and they call hooking.

As long as he's scoring don't think Torts will be to mad. I'm sure he will get a talking to about being lazy and checking with your stick.

Cam York turning into a number 1 defenseman right before our very eyes.

I said this last season or earlier this season. He will be our Scott Neidermayer hall of famer.

Couts a healthy scratch again tonight.
I for one am not sad/mad. Torts holds everyone accountable for their play regardless of who it is and the players respect him for it.

Couts has been playing so slow after the first 20 games. The game is going so fast in transition and he just isn't able to keep up with the pace of the game in the last month and a half.

I am beginning to think that Couts needs rest and/or at least begin the process of considering retirement. In the mean time, Torts is going to be objective and hold EVRYONE accountable no matter who they or who they think they are.

Big point tonight. As well as we played in the 3rd and OT, I feel like we should've won this game, but it wasn't meant to be. Right now, it's looking a lot like we just have to beat out Washington for 3rd in the Metro and Tampa/Detroit will take the wild card spots. If we let Washington or the NYI past us, we can probably forget about making the playoffs. The Caps are about dead even with us, but they would have to win both games in hand to pull ahead via the tiebreaker.

I would really hate for this to come down to the final game of the season against them too.
