Yes he has done better but is he ready? We shall see. I am up to see him now as our rotation is not that great anyways. Might as well test them
I so think we are still rebuilding but the finsh is in sight. I do think we are set to compete next year but maybe we overachieve this year. Definitely think our pitching is suspect for now

He looked great in the middle innings of that Oakland game against their backups. They were determined to pick and choose his opposition so that his confidence would increase. They are betting on that being a huge difference maker because they give up a top prospect and 3 months of Gibson to get him.
Doesn't hurt to load up the minors with pitchers as you never know when one will get it together. Looking at Abreu he gave up 8 HRs in 36 innings last year at the MLB level and Ahlstrom was drafted out of Oregon so may take a while to see what he has.

Understand but certainly not enough to deem him a rotation starter.
We all want him to do well but to think he is ready to start in the rotation is a dream.
I don’t think guys on here have anything against him personally. I have soured on him because the way he pitched and what the Rangers gave up to get him. In some games last year he couldn’t pitch a inning.

I like Crouse but they did not fleece us. So I disagree I think because Crouse was given up Howard had to be Superman for the trade to be considered a success
