Yes but the roster crunch likely comes next year. I think we are safe this year if we want to give final chances. But if we give up I am all good minus White IMO
Remembering hating to give up O Herrera after his great winter league performance and that came back to bite

This is why I think these wacky trade proposals giving up pieces before our pitching comes up is so premature.
We can trade prospects for finishing pieces. At the earliest next year at the break.

So a Mancini trade makes zero sense. If we pick up anything we pick up pitching. But to me that is to soon too

I think we definitely have some guys to trade or release at some point. Long term I don't see guys like Calhoun(both), Leody, White, Yonny, and a reliever or three being needed much longer.

We may also need to trade a couple of older prospects for one or two who don't have to be added to the 40 man at some point.

I would expect we might make a major trade for a really good catching prospect in a year or so.

All of those things could free up some spots.

The Yankees certainly had a way of trading rule 5 eligible prospects they did not want to roster.

I am not too concerned about it today seeing the rule five break we got. But yes we will have to get rid of most guys listed unless one surprise as generally happens
