If we could just keep Smith, Crim, Wendzel, and Thompson in the lineup all year we might have quite the offense. Lol

If either Latz, Ragans, or Bubba Thompson becomes a contributor for us eventually, we might look back and be very happy this lockout lasted long enough to cancel the Rule 5 draft.
Thompson is trying to do his part.

Yes I was very happy rule 5 canceled but even more for Ragans
He is now under the radar but maybe a strong season can help him become a MLB contributor next year

Since the team likes collecting ex-Dodger players I wonder if he'll find his way to Texas

I think we have a very good chance of improving from within during the season.

Guys like Winn, Kent, Alexy, Otto, Smith, Wendzel, Thompson, Harris, and Crim have a chance at helping us this year. Not all of them most likely, but maybe 3 or possibly 4 of them. Also, there may be a bullpen guy or two, especially Chase Lee, who could help out as well. Then there is Hernandez and Leclerc.

Josh Smith and bubba Thompson making hard pushes for roster spots, I could live with Smith in CF or 3b if he earned it, same with bubba in Cf and Wendzel, nice problem to have going into the season

with these and what @saddles is talking about we would have to clear probably 6 or 7 40-man roster spots

I have been following our minor league system since guys like Roy Smalley, Mike Cubbage, Billy Sample, Bump Wills, and Danny Darwin were a part of it. I have never seen us have close to this amount of talent at one time. We may have had better prospects at times, but never this many really good prospects at once.

Yes but the roster crunch likely comes next year. I think we are safe this year if we want to give final chances. But if we give up I am all good minus White IMO
Remembering hating to give up O Herrera after his great winter league performance and that came back to bite

This is why I think these wacky trade proposals giving up pieces before our pitching comes up is so premature.
We can trade prospects for finishing pieces. At the earliest next year at the break.

So a Mancini trade makes zero sense. If we pick up anything we pick up pitching. But to me that is to soon too
