They see him as a very good defender with speed and a non-stop motor. If he can figure out how to hit you would have the CFer the team has needed for awhile and probably the leadoff man...
As a general rule I root for all Rangers to do well even past unmentionablesHope that’s what happens. Would be cool
Someone suggested that Garver could see some time at 1B this year.So here are the potential expendables- some only have a year or less to make themselves useful
Solak
W Calhoun
Y Hernandez
Reks
Class 2 2 years to prove
E White
Leody
Class 3 - perhaps a trade
One of the catchers besides Garver including Huff - can’t see us keeping 4 guys on 40 man for long unless there is a commitment for Garver to PT DH
This year though is considered part of the rebuild although no one will admit it so no hurry unless some guy in the minors must come up. An injury and a call up who excels could be a death blow
Just pure opinion. Other opinions may better
I put all of those guys in basically the same category. Hernandez and Solak have the advantage of possibly being kept around as utility players since they can play multiple positions. Solak and Calhoun have each shown flashes and may be able to be helped the most by our new hitting coaches. So here are the potential expendables- some only have a year or less to make themselves useful

This would be quite a success for the farm system2024 Lineup and Bench
C. ???(Huff, trade acquisition, or Garver extended)
1B Crim
2B Semien
3B. Jung
SS. Seagar
LF. Harris
CF Smith
RF. Foscue
DH. FA (or one of the guys listed as bench players with Solak taking their spot on the bench)
Bench
Wendzel
Ibanez
Duran
Trevino
And it doesn't include Carter, Acuna, Acosta, Morrobel, M. Smith, Zavala, or Cauley. This would be quite a success for the farm system
so do I but i don't do it forever or more 3 or 4 years whichever comes firstAs a general rule I root for all Rangers to do well even past unmentionables
No mention of Garcia above but I would assume he is not part of the future.
Sounds reasonable.I wonder if Perez and Arihara will be the placeholders in the rotation while they nurse along some young guys at AAA and AA. They might want to limit the prospects innings for a couple of months so they can make it in the big leagues the rest of the way without having to overload their inning totals.
Or, they could let Alexy and Otto pitch normally for a few weeks and then bring them up with plans of shutting them down in late August. At that point they could bring up 2 more guys like Winn, Rodriguez, or Kent.
