When I see this and what Jays are doing

I think it foolish to feel a sense of urgency to add just any LF to make us marginally better,
We made 2 huge splashes and one underrated move at catcher who to me looks like could be a key winning piece

So we are still in the middle of a slow burn rebuild......definitely past the midpoint but probably best to tap the brakes lest we miss the turn
how does signing a competent LF'er to a 1-year deal going to affect 2023 or 2024?

Definitely excited about our prospects especially pitching. And I get to some they are only prospects

However some of these prospects will have to produce and produce big at the MLB level for us to be serious WS contenders which we are not even close to this year.

The Rangers ownership stepped up to the table finally but they will never be ones that attempt to buy a World Series. The prospects must produce ....so we will have to wait.

I hope we maximize our draft pick this year. It might be the best we get in quite a while
The rebuild was always about building from within and complimenting the home grown talent with a couple of great free agents and one or two good free agents. The prospects aren't quite ready, but the great free agents were ready.

The Rangers did the right thing by grabbing free agents a year or two before the young guys are ready. They will make the rest of the moves they need to make once they find out about the prospects.

We all knew, or at least, we all should have known, we would not be contenders in 2022.

i hope you realize that i'm not pushing for moves that would make us a sudden contender in 2022 but more minimal moves that make us a better more competitive team than we were last year when we were 60-102. what is wrong with wanting the team to improve by 5-12 wins. contrary to some thinking you don't just play bad baseball one year and then suddenly the next year win the world series. you improve steadily over a period of time

i agree but be honest how much better are the Rangers from last season. SP is not as good, 3rd base is a black hole and the outfield of Calhoun, Garcia, Calhoun and Taveras is one of the worst, if not the worst, in baseball.

I'm betting they're at least 10 wins better this year

Well right or wrong they think Eli White swing has been revamped maybe Reks. And at least White is elite defensively. Not against giving him one final chance in a rebuild year

I liked the idea of getting Suzuki as he was a long term potentially elite solution

So it can potentially stall things. Definitely not the end of the world but just not seeing the urgency

I think a platoon at 3B makes us better offensively so we are better offensively plus we have Garcia who never got protection in the lineup

It will be interesting to see what the new hitting coaches can do with guys who have shown offensive promise, but never achieved consistency, guys like Willie and Solak and maybe even Garcia.
