Yep. Niners are assured a third-round pick. I don't see any way DeMeco doesn't get a job. He's usually pretty accurate with the comp projections.
And some teams will be getting additional comps for diversity hiring.
The Niners are already getting a 3rd rd comp this year for Ran Carthon being hired in Tennessee, so if Ryans gets a HC job, the Niners will get another 3rd rd comp, but it won't come until 2025 I think.Yep. Niners are assured a third-round pick. I don't see any way DeMeco doesn't get a job.
Gotcha. I didn't know it was a deal where you have to wait a year. The Niners are already getting a 3rd rd comp this year for Ran Carthon being hired in Tennessee, so if Ryans gets a HC job, the Niners will get another 3rd rd comp, but it won't come until 2025 I think.

That’s pretty solid but also warranted when you’re losing good coaches. You don't have to wait.
If a team gets 1 diversity hire (Carthon), they get 2 3rd rd comps, 1 in this year and one next year. But if a team has 2 diversity hires in the same offseason (Carthon and Ryans), the team get 3 3rd rd comps, but only 1 per year for the next 3 years.
So assuming Ryans is hired away, the Niners are getting 3 extra 3rd rounders--1 comp in 2023, 1 comp in 2024, and 1 comp in 2025.
Not disagreeing but why would JC Jackson be a 4th instead of a 3rd?
That's a good point. Jackson signed a deal with a very similar average per year as Scherff did and the Commies are getting a 3rd for him. I wonder if it's b/c Jackson missed more than half the season injured. The comp formula takes into account yearly salary, awards, and snap counts. So it might be b/c Jackson got injured and missed most of the year. Not disagreeing but why would JC Jackson be a 4th instead of a 3rd?
I guess we won't know until the NFL announces the compsThat's a good point. Jackson signed a deal with a very similar average per year as Scherff did and the Commies are getting a 3rd for him. We won't know for sure, but that injury IS why Korte is projecting a 4th for him.I guess we won't know until the NFL announces the comps

I am a KFFL refugee myself. I remember waiting for AdamJT13's projections. They were usually very accurate. Most of the time these comp picks are really accurate. If you read the article, the ones where he might be wrong are explained and JC isnt one of them. They basically have the formula down now more or less.
On the old KFFL board AdamJT13 used to break these down every year for us. He was one of the first to ever do it. Over the Cap actually used to give him credit every year when they posted this article but it looks like they quit giving him the credit.
