Whether or not that plan works remains to be seen but I agree this is the type of player that BB likes.

That said, after four years with the Packers who drafted him he's been on a bunch of different teams.
He wanted to keep Cordarrelle Patterson, he even tried to get Patterson back.
Is Montgomery a poor mans Patterson?

So with all the higher caliber WRs going to new teams a lot of teams GB, DAL, KC etc may be looking to draft a WR. Taking into account you get the 5th year option of round one players does taking a WR at 21 make more sense now than it did two months ago?

In my opinion, he should be looking for positions in this order:

1. OL
2. CB
3. ILB
4. WR
5. Edge
6. OL
7. CB
What makes you think he isn't?
What makes you think that what he is looking for is not as smart as what you are looking for?

Calm down, just expressing my feeling on what "I" think he should do.

Who the hell knows what BB is thinking? Why are you getting so defensive for him?? Like he gives a shit what you or I think.

I'm not being defensive.
I'm not enjoying your almost constant negativity when everything is not perfect and other clubs are spending money and draft picks like a drunken sailor? You are a great poster but most of what you post is either really negative or so homer-like. It's manic!

My negativity is based in reality. The NE Patriots have positioned themselves in very bad corner. They've lost players that allowed them to achieve a good season last year and can't replace them. ie: JC and Shaq. This team has not had better than average WRs for three years and they haven't improved them one lick. Draft? How often has this team drafted an offensive individual that had a breakout year in his rookie year other than Mac Jones and Stevenson last year? Can't depend on the draft to fix much of anything, especially with BB's history of drafting WRs.

Not much has been positive this year unless you consider Trent Brown, Malcolm Butler and James White as the start of the second coming.

You can polish a turd, but it's still a turd.

If I'm wrong, I'll be the first step forward and admit it next February. If I'm correct, no one will step forward say it, they'll produce two hundred reasons why I wasn't.

This only relates to the standard set by their best selves. If you look at their actions compared to all other teams within the last ten years it doesn't rate as especially poor positioning. We could say "look at the fabulous job they have done" and use a comparison to the jets as reference instead.

To be honest, I'm more concerned with the lack of coaches/coordinators and their overall expirence levels. Not to mention all the moves in the personell department.

There is/was no $ this off season to retain the players who were going to get paid. No $ to bring in flashy FAs unless you want to mortgage the farm and kick the can down the road.

None of us know the status of the kids coming off of IR from last season. If they can produce as expected, NE will be fine.

We still have the rest of FA, the draft and future trades.

Next season there will be plenty of $ to go shopping early. Guys like Agholor will be gone.

Which is very subjective. This is the offseason. Not even April. You are judging what the Patriots did in the offseason which hasn't even happened yet.

You are judging them by what they didn't do YET!

Ass to that, there's no need to judge. That's why they play the games. 2021 vs 2020 says they are on the right track until 2022 shows they are not.

"Former New England Patriots executive Scott Pioli knows a thing or two when it comes to Bill Belichick and offseason planning. With New England taking a conservative approach to free agency, Pioli is urging Patriots fans to be patient"

If, Could, Might. Maybe.

When I post anything from one of these guys, I get six replies that they're all full of shit. Mostly from others that I have placed on "IGNORE". If you're one of them, you should have noticed by now that I haven't replied to anything you've written for at least a month or four.

As I've stated three times previously, "I'm expressing MY opinion." I don't expect everyone or anyone to agree 100%. You don't like what I've previously posted, don't read my next one. I promise that it's not going to hurt my feelings. Don't let it hurt yours.

As far as Scott Pioli is concerned, he's been spending a lot of time on NFL Network giving his 'opinion' on every move made.

I have a simple question. "Why aren't you working for an NFL team anymore Scott? Could it be that you weren't as good as advertised?"

Yes, I know I'm on your ignore list and it chokes me up inside. No, you are not expressing an opinion, you are over, over, over expressing the same opinion ad nauseum.

I could be totally wrong here but I would imagine a media gig talking about football strategies is a helluva lot less stressful than building an NFL franchise. Maybe it's as simple as Scott made enough money already and would prefer a simpler existence?

FYI: Interesting note about TB12 and the Dolphins, "No trade info yet."

Great inside info on Trent Brown's contract and potential fits for the Patriots in the Draft.
