I have to say- of all the reports I have read/listened to- 95% really really like the move for the Cavs. And as I said- its not even just about this year- its about the future going forward when you trade for a 25 year old Donovan Mitchell.

Cavs should just keep getting better while some of these other teams (cough Miami, Philly, Chicago, Brooklyn) should start to decline.

Mitchell and Garland in the back court? Gonna be a ton of fun.

Cavs can easily fall into the Griz category.

Better than expected.

Years ahead of the artificial timeline for contention.

But, zero pressure to win it all any time soon.

I don't have you top 4 out East.

But, how many folks had the Griz there at the beginning of last year?

No shade.

But , it's Cleveland.

It's not a top free agent destination.

You got a All Star player who is locked into a 4 year deal.

Yes, it was a overpay.

So, was George to the Clippers.

At least your window is open for awhile.

Jazz are over the player limit. They're gonna have to do something. I ain't giving up 2 picks for any of that. I'd offer them Westbrook and 1 pick for whatever they need to offload.

They can get a first for clarkson.

Big Conley and Beasley for Russ and the picks seems fair

Wtf?

Days later they changed the diagnosis?

Well, now the Melo rumors make sense.

It looked awful in the photos

So I’m not shocked

Jason Lloyd "I did not think that 3 picks and some of their roster clutter would get it done".

It’s probably slightly more than Gobert deal since the vets In this deal have more value

yah - who knows how the picks will be

first one does not transfer until 2025- I would think that one would be pretty bad and its unlikely the pick swap in 2026 will be activated.

after that- who really knows? I think they will be bad- since Mobley, Allen, Garland Mitchell are all 25 or under but its so hard to say.

What the Cavs did was make a big move to add a great player to their roster

and as I said- the most important part of this deal is that- while the Cavs are much improved this season- next season, and the season after, they should only continue to improve.

I am sure the hope is that these 4 guys continue to improve and stay together for a long time and give the Cavs a 3-7 year contention window- but massive changes happen in the nba all the time.

I can say- it was a great move to go for it and gives the rest of the guys tons of confidence in themselves and the orginzation and the talent to compete with just about anyone.
Depending on what happens with Okoro they will have anywhere form $19M to around $27M I believe next season as well

How did they blow it if Utah kept saying No to really good offers?

I like RJ's prospects better than Sexton's though even with Sexton being cheaper
I would hope so, he was hyped up at #2 but some people like Sexton at $18M over Mitchell at his $30M+ number. Barrett is at $30M and without going into salaries him and Sexton are not far apart, add in the salaries...it's a death wish for any team. Barrett is a better player bc of his defensive ability and size but Sexton shouldn't be a far greater offensive player than Barrett with those attributes but he is.

Jazz are less than 2 mil under the tax.

Russ would need to give some money back in a buyout or trade another guy into space, with less or nothing coming back.

But, Danny has all year to figure that out.

Any Utah deal for the Lakers that doesn't land them Bog would be puzzling.

I actually like Conley for them and Beasley can do some of the things Buddy would give them.

But, he was very recently banging Pippen Jr's Mom and clutters up the Reaves/Brown/Walker/Christie minutes, even if he's better than all of them.

It should be Bogdanovic and one of those other guys, instead of both.

Send balmero and Rudy gay to Indiana

I solve problems

I like Mitchell better.

I just don't know if he's a Lauri, Abaji and Picks better.

But, it's pretty obvious why the Cavs did the deal.

He's a fricking All-Star.

His ceiling is higher...imo

Sexton's coming off an injury and was in a stalemate with his contract extension.

You were right there last year and you upgraded your sg position.

It's fun to debate things for weeks during the offseason.

When the games start, and you are winning, the cost won't matter unless a Sexton led Jazz team goes farther.

Odds of that happening out West, as currently constructed, are fucking ZERO.

Enjoy this shit, I say.

It's not like it can be undone.

I would rather have sexton at 18 than Barrett at 30

But the real answer is I’d rather have neither if I’m Utah

Aren't the Pacers trying to dump vets?

Maybe Spurs?

But, haven't they already done the Rudy dance before?

Not sure what Gay's salary looks like.

But, would he work in Boston or Miami?

With Gallo down, both need a 4.

They are being paid balmero to eat gay’s salary

Amen.

I actually don't believe Sexton's long for Utah.

* pauses and takes that sentence in....shakes it off *

Let him show he's healthy, score a ton of points and fliiiiiiip for more picks.

Couldn't pick him out in a lineup.

Had to look at Minny's 2021 roster to even see who he is.

Good prospect?

Euro?

Euro

Was supposedly an elite passer,
Playmaker but questionable shot
