I think Kyrie was a factor.

Just imagine....

You out play your contract by a significant amount, publicly state that you are willing to take less and then Kyrie happened.

Everyone knew that the Lakers only had that mini mid level to offer and minimum deals.

They clearly, and rightfully, were going to wait for Kyrie to make a decision before pivoting back to Monk.

Money dries up quick.

He took the bird in the hand and said mother fuck that bush....lol

The Kings though . . . the Kings

Sure..

Its happened before.

Bison Dele, Ricky Williams, Larry Sanders all walked away and left money on the table.

But, in the very specific case of these 2 morons?

Kevin already said it wasn't true.

So, we don't need to guess what Durant would, or would not, do.

Even if it extends his stay in Brooklyn, he pissed all over the absurdity of this rumor.

Kyrie opted in.

So, his stance is pretty clear as well, no?

Kyrie could be a LAKER right now.

He had the power to control his own destiny.

So, why is he still a Net?

Because, when it comes down to it, he wouldn't put his money where his mouth is.

He's all bluster.

All this nonsense about what someone in their position would/could/should do is just noise.

When it came down to it, they both have a price.

Neither one of these clowns is as enlightened as they want folks to believe.

They aren't Mavericks out their bucking the system.

They are just self absorbed, petulant and entitled athletes.

To be fair re: Kyrie, we also saw him give up a sizeable chunk of money because he wouldn't back down on not getting vaccinated. So, in that respect, he did put his money where his mouth is which helped people to think he possibly could walk away from that money.

But you're right, in this instance, he ultimately did not put his money where his mouth is.

I always forget about the money he left on the table by not getting vaccinated.

Had that not happened, maybe he would have been more open to the midlevel.

We will never know.

Either way, however that is the reason I would not welcome him to Los Angeles. He is not a full time player without the vaccine, not to mention that vaccines have been around for over a hundred years and proven beyond reasonable doubt that they are safe. I consider it total ignorance to adamantly refuse vaccinations.

They suck.

But, Kings money still spends.

Dude was not trying to go out like Dennis Schroeder.

As bad as things went for the Lakers last season, Monk was a bright spot.

He built up some value and wasn't waiting around to be left with another vet minimum deal.

Yeah, I think that he gave up in the neighborhood of $20 million by not getting vaxed. So, maybe he would have been willing to walk away from $30 million...but we now know he wasn't giving up $50 million. lol

Poor Paige.

You think Fudd will step up?

I’m curious about the new transfer. Was a mid major POY and now moves up and will get a lot of those empty minutes.

Plus ducharme broke out mid season and then seemed to tire down the stretch.

Was also banged up.

Uconn running into some major bad luck like they haven’t had since basically pre taurasi
