Yep.

More than what the Lakers could offer.

But, less than he could have demanded from Sacto.

They have a interesting roster.

Who starts next to Fox....

Monk, Mitchell or Huerter?

Is Sabonis the starting 5 or Holmes?

If its Sabonis, are you playing Barnes at the 4 and Murray at the 3 or will one come off the bench?

Who cares?

They have absolutely no defense

But will be fantastic tv in the regular season

If memory serves, I thought the closer a team got to $10 million per, the less likely it was that he'd stay. The Kings gave him $9.5 million per. So it may have been a little bit of Kyrie...or maybe he was one who thought Kyrie would really turn down $30 million? lol
I think Kyrie was a factor.

Just imagine....

You out play your contract by a significant amount, publicly state that you are willing to take less and then Kyrie happened.

Everyone knew that the Lakers only had that mini mid level to offer and minimum deals.

They clearly, and rightfully, were going to wait for Kyrie to make a decision before pivoting back to Monk.

Money dries up quick.

He took the bird in the hand and said mother fuck that bush....lol

Are you insinuating that outscoring the other team by 1 point is not a sound defensive philosophy?

Also...ummmm, I care.

Which is why I asked?

:sad2:

Oh I just meant they’re gonna be in the top 10 again either way

But yeah I see them losing quite a few 120 to 115 games

Maybe higher lol

I think l it’s gonna be

Fox
Huerter
Barnes
Sabonis
Holmes

Jmo

I don’t think they traded a first for huerter for him to come off the bench

Makes sense.

I'd go Huerter too.

Mitchell is a DAWG on defense.

But, he has a mastiff's heart in a French bull dog's body.

No way should they even consider playing Fox and Monk together full-time.

In spurts, sure.

If the rookie plays well, I can see them dealing Barnes.

Barnes is an expiring deal.

They should deal him almost no matter what.

this thread was funny @The Q

Yeah, there was some funny stuff in there.

You know what wasn't in there?

That bullshit you and @The Q tried to say was in there.

The closest anyone came was a short discussion of which of them might consider it to get a ring and that was non-Lakers fans as much or more than Lakers fans. Even then, no one seemed to believe that any of them would actually do it.

Like I said, some folks need to be less full of shit.

Yep.....why I chose to ignore it. BKS just trolling since he provided the link to the thread.

And people are quick to forget but DeRozan would have been acquired (just not for the MLE and it makes sense since he is from the CPT) by the Lakers if they had not opted for RW. So there's that.

Via Yahoo Sports:

“I felt like going to the Lakers was a done deal and that we were going to figure it out. I was going to come home,” DeRozan said in November. “The business side of things just didn’t work out. A couple of things didn’t align. It didn’t work out. It’s just part of the business, part of the game.”

And personally glad we didn't get Conley or Lowry......both seem to be done after last season.

DeRozan? Not a great outside shooter but he would have been a way better fit than RW.

Wasn't the Hield trade the one that got messed up by RW?

I think the Lakers had moved on from a DeRozan trade and were so close to the Hield trade that Kuz was about to start house hunting in Sacramento.

Apparently Fox's recruiting pitch was really good as he supposedly took less money to go there.
Or Monk was butthurt the Lakers were going after Irving rather than Monk. And that's just smart business on the Lakers behalf since (despite being cray cray, hope I did that right) Irving is way better than Monk.
