Future cap relief and probably a pick. BKN should get 2 1st's out of it though, right?

I'd think it would be the Spurs getting the picks. Maybe 1 each from the Lakers and Nets and the Spurs and/or Lakers send a player(s) to the Nets?

:noidea:

I'm not sure they would both need two picks a piece but they should be asking for it. If the Spurs unload future cap and get a pick...that should be enough but what does BKN want? 1 or 2 picks? The Lakers only have so many picks.
No, I get what you are saying.

I'm saying They don't need Westbrook to do that.

They only have 51 million in salaries on the books.for 2023-24.

The Nets don't get a pick for trading Kyrie? Well damn, that's what they get for signing a looney.

More realistic. All picks come from Lakers. Spurs might want more though

Spurs get: Russ, '25 1st, '25 2nd
Nets get: '27 1st, '27 2nd
Lakers get: Kyrie, McDermott

Still kind of surprised Pop would be on board trading Murray and the tank. But, he's also a great teacher of the game.

It would have to be.

But, if that's the case, what do the Nets get?

@Shanemansj13 is right.

If the Nets aren't taking back salary, 1 pick is plenty.

But, eating 47 mil?

Yeah, that will likely cause you 2 just to get the Spurs onboard.

They have zero incentive to help.

They have room for two max slots plus a top 3 pick potentially...I mean obviously draft compensation is the main sticking point, I agree.

Really?

They didn't trade Dejounte by choice.

Rich Paul told them Murray would be leaving when his deal.expired.

So, they sold hella high.

The San Antonio Spurs reportedly traded All-Star guard Dejounte Murray to the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday, which raised eyebrows across the league.

However, ESPN's Brian Windhorst reported that the Spurs decided to part ways with Murray because it was inevitable that they'd lose the 25-year-old.

"He and his agent, Rich Paul, made it known that he was not going to extend his contract with the Spurs this summer," Windhorst said on The Hoop Collective podcast.

Definitely not much better.

And Definitely not worth selling three young assets plus future picks.

Better... i will grant that much.

I think if Brooklyn says they have to have Barnes, Toronto should sub in some salary filler and keep OG.

Then this roster looks a lot different when you add in 1 more good player who can guard multiple positions well.

So BKN is taking Barnes, Trent, salary filler & picks? They would need a 3rd team, no way they take that.

Missed that.
It didn't come out until AFTER the trade.

Some Front Offices are better than others at keeping things in-house.

First I heard of him being available was maybe 3 days before he was actually traded.

If it was Barnes Trent OG and no picks then sure.

Asking for those 3 plus 4 picks is ridiculous.
I'm thinking somewhere in the middle.

Barnes, Trent and OG and a couple 1st's or Barnes, OG, salary filler and more picks.

No way they would take Trent and Barnes + picks imo
