Yes and no. There is a very real possibility that they could be stuck with Westbrook at least through the trade deadline. So it is smart that they have been asking candidates how they would use him because whoever they hire might have to use him.

But it should not be a deciding factor, imo.

I honestly don't know what the priority should be. They're in a precarious situation. Not sure it matters, and it probably doesn't assuming there aren't any takers for Russ.

Keep Russ who's a poor fit with LeBron and he leaves leaving your with limited draft capital.

Trade Russ for a better LBJ fit and an extra year of salary and he still may leave...
