Porter is the wildcard to me. If the other guys meet their projections, Porter could still end up being anywhere from 1 to 5. He may be our best pitching prospect. I wouldn't put him there yet, but it might not take long to move him there.
Best pitcher and best prospect are two different things. But as a combo and based on potential input him ahead of Winn but the reality is just to strong for White. He may end up being out ace. Who knows?

He's had so many hitting coaches it isn't funny so I take that with a grain of salt. 2019 he was doing pretty good before he got hurt and 2021 before he was traded, and that was with nobody worth a schitt behind him in the lineup...

I'm guessing the Yanks want him to take advantage of the softball distance short porch in right. And pitchers aren't giving him anything to hit there because he isn't allowed or won't go the opposite way to burn the shift. So the Yanks have basically undone what was making him successful in 2019/21... :tsk: :gaah:
He had hitting talent around him in NY and he still sucked. He absolutely refused to go the other way. In an interview he told a reporter his job is not to get base but to drive in runs. How you going to do that hitting in the low 200’s or below and striking out 200 times. Don’t want him around the younger players and setting a bad example with the bat. And blocking younger players.

That was my first thought as well. He couldn't have been surrounded by a better offense.

I rate our draft as an A or A-.

the top of our farm seems to be more position player heavy then pitching. Some of the upper level pitchers haven’t done well this year. Making the pitching pool in the minors a lot deeper should pay off in the long run.

we got the most MLB ready pitcher and the best rated pitching prospect in the same draft. As long as Rocker doesn’t turn in to prince fielder this could be a very good draft for the franchise.

No, but just saw the pitcher I would love to have but we probably never will in Alcantara breezed through his inning.
At 5 years for $56 million Miami got a bargain.

new question: with the draft over the next thing on the timetable is the trade deadline on August 2nd. i know the popular choices to go between now and then are Calhoun, Miller and Calhoun are there others? and who do you want to see brought up after the 2nd?

i want Calhoun, Miller and Culberson gone with Thompson, Crim and Harris replacing them. and after the September 1st open roster i want Duran, Huff and maybe Foscue brought up

I don't see us being active. We aren't trading bad players unless they are throw-ins with good players, and I prefer not to trade away any good players.

I think a backup OF like Calhoun could be desired. Seems like we once traded for a backup OF in our glory days. Even Culberson could be wanted by someone desperate for a better 26th player. Miller could be versatile enough to warrant a smidgen of interest.

I wonder what we could get for Lowe?

Don’t wish too hard. They might bring Duggar back up.
