Hayes benched after another stupid turnover was a great move by Torts.

Cates 2 assists i love his game.

I watched the 3rd period last night. The best thing is that the whole team was hustling for the whole shift. It was refreshing. I am still not sure JVR was doing on the ice with less than a minute and with the Devils goalie pulled. There had to be a better option. Provy stood out in a good way as well as Cates. Probably the most focused I have ever seen Hart. Also, I don't think Cates got enough credit on the TK breakaway for the game winning. Cates slowed down the Devils defenseman just enough to break TK without getting an interference call.

I think it's almost indisputable that we'd be right there fighting for 7th or 8th place in the playoffs at worst if we were anywhere near a healthy team this season. Yeah, there are 6 teams (Bos, Tor, TB, NJ, Car and Pitt) that appear to be uncatchable, but everything else is/was there for the taking.

Cam Atkinson on IR, Kieffer Bellows Returns to Flyers​

Also on Saturday, Cam Atkinson was placed on injured reserve. The veteran forward was cleared as of Nov. 28 but needed more time to feel he could add value to the team.

It seems as if that will not be anytime soon. There was no word if Atkinson suffered a setback or not. He was practicing with the team and was taking contact as well. Atkinson has yet to play a game for the Flyers this season.

You can't compare last year's team to this team.

Completely different team, coaches, tactics, atmosphere, effort, mindset, identity etc.

We'll have somewhere around half the talent/skill of last year's team and still probably finish with a better record.

What does that tell us!?
