Also don't get me wrong, I like this team has fight, but we were outclassed tonight. We also saw the Provorov of ghosts past. He was horrible.
This play killed us as we had just made it a 1 goal game and i was happy for 11 seconds and then pissed that Prov made that turnover.

Boston played a bad 1st and Hart was up to the challenge, unfortunately he can't score too. Did Ristolinan play? I swear I never saw or heard his name called. Fletcher should be held accountable for this debacle. Such a horrible signing.

I agree Risto was such a fail for what we paid to trade for him and then we doubled down by resigning him ughhhhhhh!!

Thats all on Fletcher terrible GM job there.

The dude got lucky to get out of Buffalo (or vice versa) and had a new beginning and didn't prove shit, then was awarded guaranteed set for life money, why try?

Absolutely fucking unreal. 2-0 lead in the 1st and 4-3 lead late in the 3rd only to give up a goal with about 2 seconds left in regulation, limp through the OT and get beat 0-1 in the shootout. Frost's shot went off both posts and then out...Lol

It's got to be crushing. Laughton left injured too. We're running out of forwards here, it's absurd.

The only positives that we can take from this game are Sanheim netting his first and Tippett looked like a star tonight.

All for nothing though as it technically goes down at another loss, which is six straight.

So if Laughton is out injured, we could be without at least seven forwards Monday night against Calgary. It's literally almost like missing our top two lines, plus a depth player.

This team is supposedly a tight-knit group and we fight hard, but this is some kind of fucking adversity for a team that was already thought to be short on talent/skill when 100% healthy.

With Risto, if you don't hear his name, he's probably doing alright. He was +2 in the last game with 5 hits and a couple blocks. I'll take that every game from him. I notice you didn't mention it, so I will.

Going back to last season, Flyers are 1 for 22 in shootout attempts.

Forward ranks are depleted. Nuts.

Thought they played pretty well - although it was against the Habs.

As Snoop says in those commercials, "That's incredible....ly bad."

While we don't have any of the top shooters, these guys should be better than 1 for 22. Unfortunately most of them are out injured.

Hayes: 30.77%
Atkinson: 30.61%
Couturier: 28.21%
JvR: 24.24%

It should be something we practice and have internal stats on so that we can pick some new shooters.

Forwards are depleted is an understatement.

Dammit we had that game even without our top injured players. We were the better team.

At least Owen Tippett is coming along very nicely.

It would be great to have at least one elite shooter in the shootout. I would say that's anyone averaging 40% or better conversion rate. Unfortunately there are only 27 of them active in the Nhl, but obviously none on our squad. So, we're going to be at a disadvantage in literally every shootout...Lol

Power Rankkngs

26. Philadelphia Flyers (7-7-4)

Previous rank: 16

Predictable: The Flyers are who we thought they'd be. Yes, Philadelphia has been riddled with injuries to key players. But it's no surprise this team is near the bottom of the league standings given its lack of depth, which should've been addressed during an embarrassing offseason.

At 7-7-4 after 18 games is so much better than i though wed be at this time. We have more points than probably 10 or 11 teams which if you look at our roster is way better than expected.

Riddled with injuries to key players is the important part there. I don't think it's fair to judge a team right now that is going to be minus Couturier, Konecny, Atkinson, Laughton, JvR, Allison, Ellis and Brink tonight.

That's 3 of our top 4 forwards, 6 of our top 9 forwards (7 altogether) and a top pairing defenseman.

At this rate, we're going to be the Lehigh Valley Phantoms by the end of the year.

This is truly difficult to watch tonight. Everything is close to even statistically except for the scoreboard. There is literally zero replacement for all of the talent and skill we are without. It puts us at an immediate disadvantage against every other Nhl team.

It was difficult to watch. Nearly impossible to overcome the talent differential. I almost feel bad for the players.

The attempted comeback in the 3rd was actually commendable. Farabee got a snipe and it looked like we were going to possibly tie it late with the goalie pulled. Two more empty net goals allowed though just makes it look worse than it was. We might set a team record for empty net goals conceded this year...if they keep that stat (and I'm sure someone does).

In the first two periods though, it was extremely evident that we don't have enough talent to compete. Even an average team like Calgary has Huberdeau, Lindholm, Kadri, Backlund, Toffoli and a pretty solid defense. So, they pretty much have a full 1st and 2nd line, which we pretty much lack. That kills us.
